I have been rocking this pipe for a few days and my mind is all over the walls. It packs a radical throat hit for a 3.7v mod! It's called the "Jazz" Cartopipe.

Aesthetics, it's a very nice handmade pipe out of redwood or briar. The mouthpiece is a durable plastic pipe's mouthpiece which covers the cartomizer completely. The copper button is a very nice touch and has a comfortable resistance to the thumb or fingertip. Honestly, I thought it was going to zap me but it doesn't.

I've been vaping it on a protected 16340/RC123a 3.7v, 880mAh UltraFire battery, and the spring is pretty strong inside the bowl so you need to give it a little push to swing the arm over the positive side. I have yet to try it with an 18350, but I should be able to check that out soon. I'm also dying to try it on a 2.2-2.4 ohm clearomizer, which I have coming in. I only recommend juice with 18mg/ml nicotine levels or lower on this pipe. More than that and it's just way too strong. Zero nicotine may give outstanding clouds! This has easily become my main device. I really get a consistently strong throat hit every time with this pipe mod.

WANT - I've been eyeballing this pipe since Romaniac first put up a pic. I hope he'll still have some once my tax return shows up :)

So 9.2mm would be the max diameter that will fit? I have some CE2 clearomizers, I just grabbed one and checked on a crappy caliper, unfortunately all I can say is it's 9.5mm or slightly less. If no one else can give an exact diameter, I'll try to dig my micrometer out of the closet tonight.

It is a matter of air flow next to the cartomizer while in use. The pipe is tuned for a diameter 9.2 mm or less. Also please know that the battery and button side of the pipe are sealed from the side of the pipe containing the cartomizer. The cartomizer connector is similar to the manual battery connector because I feel is not a good idea to drag air from and around a battery.
(personal phobias) better safe than sorry.

You seem to be suggesting that it has as good a throat hit as a good 5 volt or variable volt PV. If so, what is your comparison point in the higher volt PV's? That would be great if it exceeds the HV PV's.

I would have to say that it has more throat hit than my homemade 5v pass through for sure!

Thanks for the qualifier. My experience with pass throughs, even using a USB to AC 5 volt adapter, has been they produce significantly less throat hit than a good 5 volt PV. I think most PT's probably come in at about 4.1 volts.

Actually, my 5v PT rates at 5.28v on my multimeter.

It's odd, the clearomizers are a little shorter than a normal cartomizer, which doesn't allow the silicone end caps to seat like they're supposed to. It's not bad, there's more visual vapor, but less throat hit. I'll tinker with some of those silicone caps though and see if I can figure something out with them.

Replace the silicone in to the mouthpiece with a thicker silicone cap . That should take care of it. if the the silicone and the cart are in good contact you should get the throat hit you are looking for.

I actually didn't need to. The silicone cap in the clearomizers is longer already, and for some reason it just doesn't have the same throat hit. It actually vapes like a normal 3.7v. lol I am sad now. But that's fine, I'm still awaiting the 1.8 ohm cartos I ordered the other day, and I'm interested to try them out.

Yeah, the clearomizers still just give more visual vapor, but less throat hit. Less flavor too. I am sad-faced. LR Cartos, quick, come to me!

I do not like the clearomizers. I prefer the CE2R4 stainless steel ones. I believe that is a performance differences between the 2 or I have not find out yet of a way to improve their performance like the PTB modification.

Do you ever get that corn syrup taste though?

Not really. on a XL CE R4 cartomizer I take the silicone cap out, I remove the small silicone washer and the main washer around the ceramic part and i place inside a silicone washer from a hart plastic cap KR808D-1 cartomizer.this way there is no pressure on the wick at all and the inside diameter is the same with the diameter of the ceramic cup with the coil. works perfect and the wick is all ways socked so you do not get the burn taste unless the juice runs out.

Huh... that's a pretty cool idea! I wish there was a store that sold a bunch of those little washers and silicone caps. That'd be awesome.

I wonder if something about the long stem is contributing to apparent TH? I once had a ceremonial pipe that could be assembled in short- or long-stem "peace pipe" format, and the long version was always a real punch in the throat if you didn't hit it very gently!

I speculate that has a lot to do with it, Sub. I'm no physicist or engineer, but that along with the way the cartomizer seats inside the stem seems to make enough difference for me.
