So why the 18500 over the 18650? Just curious...

Just my personal preference. I think it looks a little better proportioned and handles slightly better.

It's just a perfect size mod imo.

The weight and balance just works in my hands better. With the P+18500, I can use the regular or heavy spring depending on what is needed (gloves during the winter), where I have to use the heavy on the P+18650. The 18650 is great for battery life, but the 18500 just feels right all the time.

Although, P+18650 with an 18490 and Kick does feel quite a bit lighter and easier to handle. Might sound odd, I know.

You can just post your question here, which is two fold, first other users or the manufacturer may have a solution and two, if others run into the same problem, they'll know what to do :)

ok. my kick looks like it has been used very hard before i got it. there are stains on copper bottom and a s marked with a sharpie also. the shrink wape is missing on about 1/2 of it on the sides and bottom, the paper tape was pushed up over the top when i got it. when i put it in my bolt with extension and your 18500 bat. it got real hot and would not fire. i know it is not my stuff because i have anouther bolt and kick from anouther supplier and swapped it all out to make sure, also compared kick so that is how i say the kick i got from you looks like it has been used. now for my user error i had the bat in upside down for the first 3 times i hit the button. i figure that someone would like to look at this kick, where and to who would you like me to ship it to?

I know the Kick has to be placed on the positive side of the battery as that is clear from the instructions. But does anyone know what happens with this error? Does the Kick short out or die in some way -- or just not work?

And -- why is it that IMR's batteries never seem to have the + and - printed on the labels? I have found than annoying for a year now....grumble grumble grumble.

The tape/seal on mine was broken also, and the unit was sitting cockeyed in its box. Looks and works fine, but it crossed my mind that someone had tampered with it.

Make that 3 for broken tape... I thought the same thing...Tampering... Really I just think the tape broke when they hurried to get the Kicks put into the boxes and shipped from the manufacturer... The brass, mine also looked kind of used, I would think its just from testing and handling the unit before shipping....I hope......The shrink wrap on mine also did not look like it covered as well as the one in the pictures did..... I will try my Kick out. as soon as my Precise gets delivered...........

I can tell you no Kicks were removed from the box or used (at least here at Super T), but do know at the factory they were all hooked up to a test bench and individually tested (not just a short test either, i believe it was an hour each)

I can only guess the staining is the brass bottom perhaps from machining lubricant or from during the soldering process of some sort of soldering flux. On the sharpied on "S", again, maybe Brandon can say what the S would stand for, but it's not uncommon in assembly and machining to mark items, so i wouldn't worry about it. Can you post up a picture of the bottom? Does it work now that you turned the battery back up right?

Wait, Goat got the sharpied Kick? Was it in GOLD sharpie?!? He's got the golden kick-it?

Word of advice....when the little guys who make them (not sure if they're dwarves, oompa-looompas, asians, whatever) sing you a little song, you'd better damn well listen to them.

And the foreign guy who'll try to buy your Kick off of you actually works for Brandon.

I think THAT about covers it. Good luck!

What? Too early for my sense of humor? Okay, FINE!

Yes, each individual Kick was hooked up to a test bench and tested (at the factory) prior to going out to the manufacturers.
