Hello all!
Been following this forum for a few weeks or so and been vaping now steady for about two weeks. Each day since I started I have smoked analogs less and less.
I have in front of me a pack of unopened (analog) cigarettes with the date 3/5/11 marked on them.
Ive been a heavy smoker for 35 years … quit a few times but the longest was for about 8 months and it was torture.
I’ve tried every method out there to try and quit but I’m really liking this vaping thing and think maybe this might just be the cure.
I have loads of questions but lucky to have found a local shop here in Indy with someone who is very helpful and a true vaping evangelist. … (thanks Mike)
anyway …. 3/5/11 and still unopened

I'd actually recommend smoking one after a long period of vaping, you'll realize just how nasty and disgusting those buggers are.

I agree with above statement. I started vaping a few weeks ago and suddenly had the urge to try an analog (was out an about and had forgotten my ecig). Even though, I smoked the whole thing, it really did taste disgusting and i haven't had the urge for one since. Why smoke tar and tobacco when you can vape raspberries and cream?

It gives me hope that if you can quit cigs after smoking for so long, that maybe there is hope for some of my family members to try vaping. Keep up the good work

I never tire of hearing these stories. It is so wonderful to have a product like the e-cig. It really meets what I need to stay away from analogs. It feels like smoking. It fulfills the whole urge to do something with your hands and mouth. It fills those moments while you have to wait for something and are just bored to tears. And I still get my nic fix, but I have so much more control over the level of nic, the flavors I feel like vaping. Carts, cartos, dripping, low resistance, high resistance, low voltage, high voltage. I just love it!
What a simply beautiful product!

well yeah its really is like a busy little hobby of sorts. So much to occupy the mind …filling carts, cleaning the parts and so on.

Excellent! Congrats on a great decision from a fellow Hoosier! Ive been to Indy Vapor Shop many times and Mike and the guys are great! Gave me a lot of help when starting and were very patient!
Please keep us posted as to your progress!
yeah I called the shop and talked to Mike a bit then made the drive over from the north side. I’ve emailed him and got a quick response. Made an order that was filled promptly.
I will be heading back next week to check out the Joye Ego-T’s he’s got coming in.

Another new vaper here ... well, since 3/6 anyway. I, too, smoked heavily (1.5 to 2 packs/day) of 120mm length menthols. Purchased 2 packs of these beasts last Sunday, and was totally ticked off that the Joye 510 I had ordered the previous Thurs was not delivered on Saturday ... went to my local cig shop to see what they had in e-ciggs ... not sure what brand name it was but really looked like an $80 joke to me. Patience is not one of my best virtues, LOL, and ended up tracking down an Ego-T starter kit (overpriced) and some expensive 30ml bottles of juice (really bad tasting stuff).

The end result of this whole mess: I LOVE vaping ... LOVE the Ego-T ... have found myself smoking only 1/2 of an analog every 8 hours or so (and I think this "need" will vanish by the end of the week as I become more familiar/proficient at proper inhaling, making more intelligent juice purchases, etc.). All-in-all for me, 2 total analogs in a day vs. the normal 30 or 40 I've smoked for the past 25 years is a gigantic step in the right direction. And I do agree with others' comments ... they (analogs) really are tasting disgusting.

I first heard about eCigs over 2 years ago and looked into it and thought “what a hassle!”
I’ve now learned that patience is key here, and just a little patience at that. Taking a few weeks of trial and error is well worth it if the end result is freedom from analogs.
Thinking about it, we are probably up against one of the most efficient dispensers of death ever developed by man. Decades of RnD by some of the most wealthy corporations on the planet. They make smoking easy.
eCigs are an evolving technology and distribution is in the stone ages compared to Phillip Morris and the likes.
For now we just need to keep demand high … tell every smoker you come across about these things and maybe one day one of our corporate giants will take notice and put some real effort into developing eCigs into something as easy to buy as a ….. well … a pack of analogs!

It may go against the grain here, but I'd personally never consider any pack or cigarette as "the last."
I consider them an option, since whether it's one or a pack it doesn't have the power to enslave any more.

Taking to vaping made whatever cigarettes you may have had on you the last, in terms of addiction. The rest is now on your terms. It can be nothing but good if you never touch another analog again, but I too recommend trying an analog as suggested above, at least after some time. When you can smoke one and see you haven't lost the battle and become enslaved to them again, that's the real victory and freedom, I say. Also, you may find them pretty disgusting given vaping isolates the enjoyable elements of it all while removing the nasty crap.

The fact you have some experienced people here suggesting you "try" another cigarette so casually is a real testament to the effectiveness of e-cigarettes. I can't imagine forums revolving around quitting such an addictive enslaving habit having members come out and suggest a member try smoking again, but here you have people pretty much able to toy with their former addiction. Awesome.

I've smoked a pack a day for 23 years, and since I started vaping I've really had no major cravings that chain vaping couldn't fix...but on occasion I've smoked one here and there to "test the waters" and see if I would really enjoy it...Nope! Little throat hit ,bad taste, not enjoyable at all...I feel like If I really want one then I will have one,but it's not like before where I felt like "oh my god, this is my last cigarette ever".I don't feel like I am a slave to analogs anymore. As some others suggested,If you do try one you probably WILL be disappointed and toss them.

Great feedback!
I guess it is a new paradigm of thought that it no longer has to be cold turkey with gum, patches and pills and “NO NO NO more cigarettes ever ever!” …. I remember all the stress and angst as my target date would approach, then going through not only the nicotine withdrawals but dealing with that overpowering desire to just blow some smoke!
Now it’s the cigarette that fails :D
