I get it--I think.. Too much juice in the wick, the coil is not heating fast and hot enough to vaporize it. Right?

Yes, that's right Katya. An underpowered coil can't vaporize the juice completly so it doesn't benefit from the cooling effect of the liquid to vapor transition (similar to sweat evaporating from our skin). So it gets hotter than it should and boils the juice instead. That produces the hot harsh vapor that hurts our throats and lungs. Turning up the power, or using smaller coils for low power vaping, will increase the coil heat enough to bring on complete evaporation which will keep the coil temperature stable.

Thanks Cig--but mine isn't flooding at all. It's working fine, no dry hits, just very strong and harsh hits at 10-12 watts... I used the coil that came with my Drop. It really hurts my lungs when I try to vape on it...

I mean. it's not flooding visibly--I have no gurgling and no leaks.

Could be faulty wick or coil from factory. Take it apart, make your own coil and wick it your self. These tanks and coils are wicked on assembly line, thus there will be few bad ones.

If i can chain vape at 36w (0.7ohm, 24g wire) then the answer is clear.

As far as i know, im the first person to set the record of 52w on Lemo a month ago.

Actually if you look back several months I proved you could vape 80% vg at 80w provided you have adequate wicking on a unmodified Lemo.

I think I'm going to abandon the pancake wicking method for my lemos. They've been having terrible incontinence problems lately and I've not had dry hit problems when stuffing the wick down the chimney anyway.
My subtank mini dry hits unless I pancake the wick but never leaks a drop. It's fun discovering the personalities of RTAs. Now I want to buy the rest of them.

Over the Christmas break a buddy and I vaped some straight VG @ about 80 watts in my modified Lemo. I only hit a few times, but he chained the crap out of it. .18ohm single coil on a mech. Actually, it may have been your claims that inspired us to try it.
