OK. So I've been vaping almost three weeks. Love it. Today I've lost partial sense of taste when vaping. I get a bit of flavour, but it feels like I'm vaping through a fistful of cotton wool. Tried diff juices and cartos/clearos and the same. So I've been googling around and checking threads and realise I'm not the only one. Various people have ideas about what causes it.

First of all - for me, this has nothing to do with quitting analogues. I was only a social smoker in the first place and hadn't had an analogue in a while. So this is ALL to dow ith vaping.

Second - this isn't taste buds. I can taste food fine. Also, my taste buds don't have much to do with vaping anyway - I never taste on the inhale, only the exhale, usually through my nostril....

which leads me to my nose. It's all about my sense of smell. It hasn't disappeared, just diminished. Just got off a night shift at work (i'm a care worker) and one of the rezzie had a massive loose bowel movement, which of course I helped clean up, and it still smellt bad, but not so bad as usual (my co-worker almost turned blue from not breathing)

So. It must be an allergy of some kind. Last night, before putting my feet up and watching some TV, I vaped some liberty flights VG cubana. Usually I only vape juices with a higher PG content (though with some VG)

So. It's the VG? Maybe I'm allergic...or another ingredient? I've emailed liberty flights just now so we'll see....

So I've taken some antihistamines and some decongestant. Hope it'll work because (oh, and you'll feel my pain here) the mailman's just been and I've recieved a shedload of e-juices from Johnson Creek, Liberro and Grizwalds...DOH! All new for tasting too.

BUMMER!

So anyone else had this problem?

Temporarily losing flavor happens. Several threads here have discussed it in the past. Lot's of suggestions like: your taste buds are recovering from years of smoking, drink more fluids, use a mouthwash, change your juice flavor when it happens, slow your vaping for a day or so, etc. Most posters indicate that their taste returns after a short time, and all is well again. It's frustrating, but patience seems to be the key.
