Slip I've seen the fishbone plus, it's got too much goin on for me, too many parts but the ceramic deck is nice.
There's another atty I saw with an all ceramic deck, and I think a 2 post design, forgot what it's called.
Don't clown on me o_O

Tried my first stitched whatever you call it. Only using 1 core wire.

24n80 core, 32ga Clapton with 28n80 for stitch.

Not bad at all. The less core wires the harder it is in a way. Ever try the original alien concept? That was some hard stuff to get down, I used atleast 250ft of various gauges just failing at it. For the original concept by @blueeyedgoon83 on insta, use only one core wire for the whole process. He used to suggest practicing with 20g cores and a 24 or 26g alien because it was that hard haha.
And @CrazyChef thats some cleann work, looks great. What gauges?

Thanks! I used 30g kanthal and 38g nichrome 80.
What's the original alien concept?
Single core. The alien Clapton is relatively new. But the original alien is done the same way as the 3 core. Except you only use one core to do the alien wrap. If you're gonna try it, he used to recommend using a 20g core with a 26g alien and stovetop it.

I took that picture. Had to use no crop to shrink it down to <1mb. I think it's on my Instagram too
Edit: different angle on my insta. View attachment 505722
Wow, nice picture, didn't catch that you took it. I was ready to set it as my background at work on my 24" dual screens lol.

Gmail is compressing all of the image files but I managed to move the pics of this particular piece I got to my Dropbox. Dropbox - Williamsburg Street Art
I am a professional iPhone iPhotographer. I'm going to list that under my occupation.

Here is just a small part (one empty native wicks puck full) of my graveyard coils. Mostly with a couple missed wraps, failed attempts, bored playing, a couple used ones I usually throw those away though.
I thought it was a cool pic. Funny part is I remember making almost all of them. Practice makes perfect. Practice practice practice.

Decided to try another stitched alien. I'm really happy with the way the wire came out. The coils - not so much. i couldn't get them to lay flat as I wrapped them. They're 30K cores with 40N Clapton and stitch. Then I tried to give them some color. There are no computer enhancements on the coil coloring. Just heat and sunlight.

New in the Kennedy 24. Incredibly hard to fit these duals in the center post.

Unframed 25x38g multistrand Clapton with one strand 26g fused up with 40g parallel to 24g. All N80. 5/6 wrap on a 3mm.

with stitch aliens that triangle up on you, you gotta twist the wire as you're coiling it up so the shape remains constant throughout the coil. I've had that happen to me a lot coming straight out of the drill and it's all twisted, but gently untwist it while coiling it up

Yeah, I just wasn't expecting that to happen. I straightened the wire (as you can see in the first pic) before I coiled them, and a twist kept showing up and it didn't register in my brain. If the wire was flat, why was it coiling into a triangle?
Your cores could have overlapped or you didn't stretch the decored Clapton out enough. The closer the wraps in the decored Clapton, the more triangular -> full barrel shape you're gonna get

    :sigh:
Okay, I'll try it again. That was the end of my 40N (got 1,000 feet coming). I'll try 30/38, unless you wouldn't mind giving me a better suggestion. I'll be putting them on my HellBoy and iStick 100w. 0.15Ω minimum.
When you're using a stitch the same gauge as or thicker than the wrap, it tends to form a triangular shape. Try using a stitch that's a higher gauge. Like a 34 or 36g alien with a 38 or 40g stitch.
