I had a v3.1, what went wrong with yours? I broke my center pin in half & sent an email out to hobocustoms showing a picture of what happened and he sent me a new pin, insulator & post for free. Try sending them an email to see if they can do anything for ya.
As for your birthday...did you want a set of coils? I'd gladly make you a set of something special
First successful Alien Clapton. Used 26g K-A1 for the core, wrapped with 36g K-A1, 2.5mm ID, 5/4 wraps. Put it in my Twisted Messes Clone (ordered a Twisted Messes Squared as soon as I tried it...LOL!). Comes out to 0.11 ohms.
So this was my first rendition of the reverse framed round wire. Alien specs, 4x .4x.1mm on each side of 26g in the middle. The alien wrap is a hand wrapped 3x38g fused Clapton that I pulled off something else and rewrapped. Hence why it looks so sloppy/jagged/saw-ish. Incredible vape though. Accidently pulled off part of the wrap on the top coil when pulling the coil tight with pliers. 5 wraps on a 3mm ID.
I took the pic outside & with my hand blocking the direct sunlight that would be hitting the coils. And this second pic I took in my black box with a blue CFL.
So I just stumbled across that guys ig page, lol. He went from taking pictures off his phone with a magnifying glass of simple builds, to the coil you posted. Seems a bit fishy to me, if it's real he became a pretty Damn good builder in like a week.
A guy in my building is also a vaper and wanted to see what I could do with more power than my Kbox mini so he lent me a smok xcube 2 and a velocity. I don't have much wire on hand so this was my first build. 7 loop vertebraid of 36g N80. Not super happy with it. Got messed up when I had to stop a few times during the braid for husband/daddy duties. Wrapped around a 3/32 screwdriver and ohms out at 0.79. Also screwed up the coloring, but spent so much time braiding it I figured I'd post a couple pics anyways.

Haha that's what makes me think he's cheating in the competition. That and @Retro138 ran his picture through a plug in for photoshop called Genuine Fractals & everything points to a terrible photoshop transplant job. Basically the coil was photoshopped onto the deck. And if you've seen his profile he builds on an Aeolus lite, this would be the only TM atty build. Doesn't add up to me. Honestly I recreated the build with less helixes, like 2 under and 2 on top & it's definitely not what he says it is.So I just stumbled across that guys ig page, lol. Contest rules were no editing the words in your post or editing comments. One picture, no more. And there was a tier system, tier1 was 1-999 followers, tier2 was 1000-something, & tier3 was like absurd number of followers.
We're all still waiting on the judges decisions. 3 winners per tier, 9 total. Each winner gets the same prizes which is a ton of stuff. You've got a nice build going, ribbon framed staggerton, idk what to call it.
But a side note on samir_builds, I called him out a while back and he blocked me. Somethings definitely up with that account, I mean I can't even make a naked staple, yet this kid has it in one of his first build posts? On the wrong Aeolus deck (v2 pro, not the lite he has) none the the less.
And now he's getting DSLR quality macro with an olloclip he claims. It's all just not right. Also, I picked this up yesterday & this is something @Retro138 had noticed as well, but there's no continuity to his build pictures. The only similar pictures are on a hardwood surface, but the wood grains are different in some of the pics. Doesn't make sense to me. Nor does the fact that he doesn't claim to have an Aeolus v2 pro, only an Aeolus Lite.

Hey everyone it feels like I haven't been here in years. Last month I got sick on my birthday and it turns out I had the flu for 20 days then I was better for 4 days then got sick again. It has been a awful month+. I've never been sick for this long and never seen a sickness act like this did. My wife had just got a new job and had to deal with being deathly sick but she is all good now loving her new job. These builds everyone's been posting all look great obviously except this suspicious ig person lol. I hope to be doing some building since I got a outlet to sell my coils. Very excited to make some extra loot to do something I love doing.
Glad to see you're feeling better & happy belated birthday! I'm working on some coil concepts at the moment, which are really not easy... One being what I'm going to call "the diamond" & the pyramid. I already made a diamond but it didn't quite turn out as I planned. That's great that you're selling your coils now, what have you been asked to make/sell?
Right now They want fused claptons and alien claptons. I'm giving them a few variations to see what they have the best results with. I'm giving them a real good deal to get my name out there and then I'll build some more complex things for special customers. I've been loving the dual core alien Clapton, they are real nice and really easy to make quickly. I'm interested to see these new coils your working on!!! I'm sure they will be amazing like all of your builds.
Tried my hands at Arched Clapton's (dual, 3x26g/34g KA1, 6/5 wraps, 2.5mm ID)...didn't go as well as I hoped, or as well as it seemed to be going. Seemed like it was all going well, until I started clamping the wrap and then was expounded when wrapping. So, those got tossed right out. Here is the second attempt, also duals, this time with 26g KA1 cores, wrapped with 28g KA1, 5/4 wraps, 2.5mm ID. Sitting in my Twisted Messes Squared RDA, on my Wüd wrapped Sigelei 150W. Slow to ramp up from cold @ 80watts, but a nice, warm vape after that.
That looks awesome Jvincent516. Well beyond my skill level at this point, though that's not saying much.
