Have you been doing to many press-ups? what do you think led to it?

i use to do plastering and i ended up getting tennis elbow, couldnt even lift my cans of lager onto the counter in the supermarket it was that bad... i got sent for an injection, i cant spell the word of the stuff they injected but i can say it lol its a kind of steroid but isnt as far as im aware But it never came back since then :)

now that ive stopped running up and down ladders plastering or jumping off high platforms ive picked up knee problems, hurts so bad when my knee is bent i have trouble driving to far with it, gotta keep it straight mostly and coming down the stairs in the morning hurts bad hahaha
I lift, but this was self defense. Not going to get into details. I've had sports related injuries since like age 22. My left knee is totally screwed from baseball along with a few torn muscles back in the day. My worst injury came from deadlifts. It happened like 3&1/2 years ago, I was doing 5-6 sets of 8 reps 315 pounds easy, one day I decided to go for 405, form was perfect, had a belt on, but my body just wasn't ready for sets of it. My second set of 8 I just felt something give and I almost herniated my L5. It still gives me problems with heavy lifting sometimes, because it's still bulged. No matter how much rest I give my back it always comes back.
And yeah I had insulator problems with 2 Sapors, and I must have been something terrible in a past life. Just spoke with the guys over at Kennedy vapor, they're gonna fix it. It's press fit into the deck, I don't want to risk permanently damaging it.

But hey, you can't really compare a $25 atty to a $110 atty. Especially when it comes down to customer service. I accidently broke my hobo's center pin, DM'ed a picture of it to Hoberto on Instagram on a Friday and t he following Monday I had a new center pin in my mailbox. I hope the guys over at Kennedy are just as good service wise and maybe they'll toss in the redone center post from the ruby mod. It's got a much bigger post hole.

Edit: @CrazyChef it's high treason to reveal the methodology behind those coils....I could be killed for giving the secret away! I did install them in my Twisted Messes though...it hurt really bad to get them in but I have a sprain in my wrist, not a tear or a break, so I'm just taking a break from building & coiling up wire, not installing coils.

And I actually got a first drip shot with my shaky hands & bad wrist using an iPhone clip. Image stabilizer <3

Since I won't give away how yet, I'll give away the specs: 3x26g, 32g,36g

I for SURE do not have an image to share, but I hope I'm forgiven for jumping in with an off topic post anyway, even if I am just a 3.5-months-off-analogs-built-my-very-first-32g-coils-the-other-day-newbie and all (you sure do not want to see any of my attempts at coils, I think making a standard 32g coil with swollen/stiff fingers is more than challenging enough, would have used thicker wire if I could, but 25+ wraps sounds wild for a dual coil set-up at 1.6 Ohm :( but what do I know?)

To the point of my OT posting here:
I am just in utter shock, mega super impressed over what you guys are making! One thing is for sure, any of you guys could make this gal a piece of thread jewelry any day! :hubba: Just had to say it! This stuff would pass for jewelry porn anyday! ;)

Happy building/twisting/braiding and whatever you guys are doing! Fantastic, you're artists, the lot of you! :)

I know a couple of guys here that have jewelry backgrounds, but I could probably do it too, I've seen some alien/SFC pendants/rings done, I'd personally want to make an interlocking alien cuff...
And Crazy here's what it is: it's a Snakebelly coil that I hammered flat, making it a Snakebelly that shed its skin. Para-Clapton 30/34 or 32/36g on 18g, decore it and stretch it out a little bit, take 3 26g cores and put them into the thicker gauge, so the thinner gauge is sticking up and empty. Then push the wraps down onto themselves, I forget which direction to push, but that's what gives it that loop overtop the thicker gauge. After that just hammer flat so the cores are parallel

Thanks for posting your first build, CrazyChef! That makes me realize that the coils I have made, are not as bad as I thought. :) I mean, when I watch e.g. RIP Trippers' (and many others) coils on YouTube, they always look so PERFECT. It would probably have been easier to make my very first coils out of thicker wire (have trouble even seeing the 32G, but ordered a loupe!). Thinking of trying some 26G I have, but it will need lots of wraps to get the resistance I want (3.2 Ohm for a dual coil setup @ 1.6 Ohm). I'm so new I don't even have a clue as to how wide it would turn out, if I give it a wide 4mm diameter, I need "only" 18 wraps, with less of a diameter, it sure increases a lot... LOL, maybe I need to invent a "rooftop coil", as an upside down "V", to make it more narrow? :thumb: As half of RIP Trippers' "diamond coil"... LOL, think I need to get normal coils down first... :D

You can do it, too! <snip>

That cuff sounds like a GREAT idea! These coils are sooo beautiful, would be great in jewelry. Lots of people make wire jewelry, but some of these coils are much more artistic and unique than jewelry I have ever seen! Can't help but admire the handiwork you guys do, amazing! Makes a lot of sense to wear "coil" jewelry when you're such a fantastic coil maker and into vaping! :)

It's been on my mind for a while actually. Most of my wraps would come out cleaner by hand anyway.
I learn really quick (I've been building under a year), and have the money to buy gold & silver, not to mention collect gold & silver coins, bullion, and already have stones.
Also have a broken tennis bracelet my ex ran over with her car when I broke up with her and told her I need it back (thing cost me almost $4,000) that has a total 4.50ct diamond weight set in 14k rose gold. I want to pry out each diamond and pawn the gold. Add them to my collection.
I just need to find a place to buy the raw gold/silver gauge "strings/wires" from & learn how to set stones.
And now, This:

I was tinkering with the coil wrapping calculator @ Steam Engine to see which options I had. I think that if I am to use thicker wire, I will have to increase the diameter, or it will just become too wide. I didn't even think of checking the Wire Wizard there though, even if I had seen it. With 26G wire, .405mm wide, without any spacing, it will be 7.29mm wide with 18 wraps. Wrapped tightly, the spacing should not add much. That width is not as bad as I thought it may be - would be even neater and narrow though if I had made it like a rooftop, "^" LOL (joke aside, maybe I will have to try that when I get a bit of training, since you can make a diamond coil, you must be able to make a rooftop one, like half a diamond, too, right? :thumb: RIP Trippers said the diamond gave a lot of flavor! :hubba:). 26G must be a lot easier to handle... I was so glad when I found the Steam Engine site. I don't know what I would have done without it, I guess I would have had to learn how to calculate, but math is not something I do for fun, that's for sure!

Thanks a lot for tips, this forum is so great! :)

@LottaT Try the Wire Wizard at Steam Engine - It'll help with a lot of what are going to be questions you'll want to ask once you learn a little more. Just mess around with the various options and you'll start to understand how it works.

Then it sounds like a no-brainer to me - you've got to make yourself a cuff! Very impressed that you have become this good at this in such a short amount of time. I thought you had been doing it for years... Some people just have a talent for crafts and making things... As to running over jewelry - all I can say is: CRAZY!:-x My former neighbor (here in Norway), an American (who is now back in the US) is a hobby silver smith who does a lot of filigree work with silver wire. She ordered all her supplies from the American site Rio Grande (riogrande.com) even when she lived here... I remember looking at her catalog once and was shocked seeing the huge selection (the catalog was like a fat Bible). I think you'd find anything you could ever dream of there...:)

Getting over a 2 week bout of pneumonia. Nothing worse than watching bad tv and watching all these amazing builds. You guys are killing it. Feeling a lot better so I started doing some wire smithing. (Edit: wasn't all bad, read 7 books I bought that were collecting dust)
Interlock alien
2x24g / 2x36g alien
5 wrap single coil clocking in @.25
I wish I made more but it was exhausting doing this. Lethargic still from having illness.

Feel better bro, pneumonia must suck. I've never had it but I could imagine it not being fun at all. That interlocking is on point and I think all of us know that is NOT an easy coil to build.

Edit: @LottaT thanks for that website, with the spot price on silver & gold being so low right now I think I may order some wire.

Ok as I sift through all these pics of really badass coils... im sitting here wondering, is it truly worth it to spend all that time to build all these fancy coils? whats the pros vs cons with fancy coils vs regular coils?
It depends on if you like building. It's a hobby & a source of income for a few of us here. Plus, it's just fun sometimes. And the flavor (I've found) is noticeably better with some of these builds than with standard coils.
Yo @Superfecta_ were these torched or did I color them in the atty? Raw shots, I only put my insta handle on one of them.

You tell me. Looks like you set the saturation pretty high. Apparently I hit a nerve saying torching was cheating. Sorry.

Here's some 3 core 26n80 fused with 36n80 flattened. They are a lot harder then they look to make.
