Gotta give the you tube guy big props!!! He has answered all my questions very openly and quickly....even provided the below picture.

Is anyone familiar with this style of ego-t silicone grommet? I have looked around and can only find the type that replace the whole bottom.

let me carry that to somebody who might know, bap! ;)

Great! Thanks tibs!

Just an FYI (especially for those waiting for good pre made wicks) supposedly the people who are making the Taifun GT ceramic kit have been working with the fc2000 people on wicks with more porosity and etc. He didn't really get into other details and I didn't press it as I think it would be great for the masses if good pre made ceramic wicks were available.

Using my rba's I'm trying my new mech mod. I keep hearing that I should try sub ohm coils. I tried this with my AO wicks with 28 and 30g wire. It just won't work. I've tried .8 to 1.2 ohms on both my rba's with my 2, 100% PG liquids. Even with my Vamo. All I get is burnt flavor or no flavor at all. I can only use 32g with 5 wraps at 2.2 to 2.5 ohms. My wicks are 1/8". Why can't I use low ohms? Especially with the mech mod.

just for an example, a setup that i used for a while was a 0.7ohm coil on SS mesh, with 5/64" air hole...
worked for me. worked for my AGA-T, RSST & Z-Atty.
Did even better in my dripper, but i later bumped that down to a 0.4ohm dual wick... but thats not advised.

i dont want to derail. so just keep at it, and you will eventually find the sweet spot.

Fogger will be in tomorrow..... first experience with bottom coil rebuildable... if i like it, i think i may invest in something prettier!

poland, and the brassy lands of google
Sorry not to get back earlier, it is Polish, but he really did not say how he gets it to feed. He did say it does not flood, flavor is great and most questions it sounds like he already answered, 3mm fc-2000, where those grommets are from, etc. He does raise some concern about needing to raise the lower portion of the chamber without breaking the wick, and again when putting the chamber cap on. I did notice that the grommets slide on rather easily, so I suppose they are not that tight of a seal. Hope this helps.

Verdict on the SS Mesh: leaks like Niagara in the spring. Does look pretty and tidy.

I also tried the cotton wisps per gdeal. No joy on that setup either. Still leaks, but a lot less than the SS mesh.

DrMa - your slots look the same as mine. If the cotton wisps still leak, just put a tiny bit more cotton around the gaps. Seems like with the cotton there is a fine line between creating a working air permeable dam and a juice locked seal.

Never seen that before. There are silicone replacements for eGo-t cartridges - soft and hard but none that look like that... that I've seen.

sorry, bap!

do you know the size it has to be? i think i still got some stuff hanging around from the truman carto co-op .......

I get great flavor with the AO wicks and other types when I use 32g wire with 4/5 wraps. I can use micro coils with cotton above 2ohms also. I guess I need to stay away from low ohms with my liquid.

This might fall into the needing to break in a wick category????

Are you hot wrapping? Also are you leaving some space between coils?

I have found that the tighter the coil is on the wick the better it performs in flavor and vapor. Also that the ceramic doesn't like touching or tightly spaced coils, at least on round external wicks. In my experience I have found that it only takes one little piece of wire to get hot and throws everything off, like the top leg to center post on a genesis style aty. Cotton/hemp or a washer or etc to eliminate that seems to help immensely.

Most of my best performing ceramic setups have been 0.8-1.2 ohms. I would say stick to 28g and keep trying.

Right now I'm trying a 4 wrap, 1/8" wick with 32g at 2.1ohms. I need to give this one a little time, its tasting good. I will try the 28g at 1ohm after this tank. I just don't get why I can't use sub ohm. I keep hearing here that its great. I keep thinking that most people here are using a mixture of PG and VG. I use 100% PG only. Could that be an issue? My liquids are kind of on the thin side.

Thanks for all the help. I'm just curious about sub ohms.

Not sure about the juice, I use 50/50. In general lower ohm coils seem to work better with ceramic. Mostly due to reducing lag, but also that the ceramic can tolerate the higher heat better than other wick materials.
