Thanks Equality, How thick are those blades? I have a diamond blade for my circular saw that I used on paver blocks when I installed my 120' x 20' driveway that had a little use that I thought I might try. Any other ways?
The easiest way is to get a tile saw with a diamond blade, like tile setters use..they have a carriage and fence on them that allow you to just mass produce blanks to turn into wicks.

well that's the trade off with blades...... thinner blades have a smaller kerf, when they're sharp they're great, but they also tend to deflect alot under force this causes your cut to start to wander, whereas big blades take alot of material, but don't deflect giving straighter cuts with duller blades. personally I think the waste is neglible alongside the efficency a tile saw gives.
Seems like a lot of waste. using a blade like that. I need to find something thinner to use.

I still have the 6 AO blocks of from ebay that need to be cut up. What's the best way to cut these to make 1/8" wicks?

Ain't sayin' its the best - I just use a larger diamond blade in a Dremel. I have a bowl of water at hand, and keep dipping the AO in the bowl while cutting to keep it wet.

You know I have one of these blades, but I can't seem to find the special little do hickey and shaft for it anywhere

Same way I do mine....a Dremel with the same diamond wheel. They aren't cheap (about $25 with the shaft & adapter), but if you keep the AO wet, they'll last for years. If you try them with the ceramic dry - they will wear out VERY quickly.

You can get the "doohickeys" by themselves at most places that sell Dremel accessories, or even Lowes for a few bucks.

Yeah, well I can't begin to tell you of all the generosity shown to me by vapers, including almost everyone on this thread at one time or another. the list would be too long to write...from Gdeal to Dan,to mike,to Bowden who was kind enough to let me have a half dozen BD13 wicks...I could name an act of kindness from all of you.....funny huh...but in the vaping community as a whole the level of fellowship is one of the strongest forces that has driven the industry to the place it is. I tweaked gdeal's monkey bar wick and make a wick I call bigfoot next time i make some up I'll post a picture.
That was very generous :thumb: Would you post a pic of one of your monkey bar wicks sometime??

True that...I feel the same way :toast:

I'd still be smoking analogs now if it wasn't for fellow vapers. I haven't had one in over a year...

Gdeal wrote a tutorial on how to do this on this thread, but I start out with a rectangular block...first cut the notch out that will straddle the deck fit it..then shape the legs if the legs are to tall you can always grind them down...then shape the cross bar. yeah a diamond burr is what I think G uses. i use a diamond dremel cut off wheel, and a diamond hand file that's about 6 inches long and is 5mm wide and 1mm thick. the cut off wheel works great grinding the legs to follow the contour of the chimney,
