As promised to brother Soignee, Here is a twisted dual coil build using RXW in a Cyclone AFC. Went a bit to the wild side with this one. Its built using 32g quad twisted wire free hand wrapped around the 1.5 mm section of the looping tool and meters out at a dead on .40 ohms. Its built on Reo#2 which is dedicated to all things Wakonda and while it is chucking the clouds it is also too warm for me as I usually fire Wakonda @ .70. As far as the wicking goes, I used the 2mm RWX and spun it in left to right going with the same direction of the wrap first cutting the end at an angle then wetting the tip with my tongue while leaving the entire length of the wick un cut. Getting it in was a piece of cake and the wicks are making excellent contact with the coils The plan is to vape it a bit and then rip it out and head back to .70. It may sound like a bit of a waste of time but for me that's O.K as I love to play.

Nice. Great detail on your directions. I've found that after a super hot build breaks in, that the heat does mellow out. Could be I'm just getting used to it though...

Inexcusable! I shall never converse with you again. I am highly offended.

So how's it goin? :)

Well it's a beautiful 71 with about 30% humidity and I have to work. But I've got a .47 build that delivers the NIC when I have to stealth vape tonight. Got some 34 and 24 gauge in the way to round out mah wire choices for my upcoming build marathon!!

I switched up from the steel cored Drip Tip Designz tip I was using to a Pyrex Innovape muffler and that alone cooled it down quite a bit.

On another note, The 2nd Odin, a couple of Router tips and a Provari P3 just showed up at my door. Time to go play.

I could go for a build marathon.

I wrapped a coil with that triple 28 Clapton only to realize I had nothing to put it in. Son of a...

I only have one dripper that's single coil friendly, has a large deck, and has big airflow. It's just going to have to wait for now.

Could just mail it to me

 Y'all can buy them online if you want...but you will have so much more satisfaction figuring out how to do it yourself mah friend!

I'm waiting on the correct wire to try my hand at a Clapton. Mitro and Distorto have fully motivated me to move to the next level from twisted wire to complex wire coils.
Try your hand at some twisted, maybe pick up some ribbon wire, visit the Coil Builds sub forum and before you know it...

A mea culpa:

Ever since I uploaded the picture of that wire, I just couldn't shake the thought that it just looked too "lumpy" for a triple. Well I dissected one of the legs and sure enough... it's just a regular twisted pair. How I spent all that time wrapping the outer wire and it didn't dawn on my feeble little mind I'll never know. I realize nobody else cares but I hate being inaccurate.

Unfortunately I think its wrapped too big to only have a pair inside.

Anyway, here's a pic of the 32ga over DUAL twisted 28ga (3.1mm I.D.) sitting with a 34ga over single 28ga (2mm I.D.)

With 34ga, you can forget about trying to see what its doing. You just close your eyes and squeeze the wire between your fingers.

Awesome. Thanks for the great enabling Mitro! Fortunately for me, I have folks like y'all to make funky coils easier!

Sadly, I have to check out for a bit...I have two back to back doubles...up in 6 hours.

Thanks for the comparison picture, it really puts the two builds in perspective!

So, while I'm waiting on wire I've been doing a little research... I came across this gem of a YT on how to produce Clapton Wire. Distorto, I immediately thought of the engineer in you...If you read German, you benefit. Don't really have to though, it's the production method that rocks in this vid. It's worth watching although the first couple of minutes are setup to the actual winding around ? the 5 minute mark...The person making the vid is pretty intelligent...solves the tension/feeding issue really well...

Nice find my brother and no, I don't do the German but the concept is easy to see. It's kind of the same principal I used myself but by doing it the way I did using the Dremel and the drill, it didn't wobble at all. I simply used the left hand to tension the core wire and wrap wire in the drill and the right to tension feed the wraps. It went a bit slower ( maybe I was just being a bit cautious) the way I did it though as I was just a wee bit worried about the possibility of friction heat.

As Most of you know, Distorto loves his toys. So a month or so ago, I bought a couple of iSticks to play with as I liked the idea of being able to simply fold them and toss them in a pocket. So, I picked up a couple of Kanger SubTank " Nanos" and brought them along with me for a quite weekend in Sonoma to set up and take for a test ride.

I loaded up with some CLS in one of them and Man!, all I can say is that I am really impressed even with the 1.2 ohm coils. These things really kick out the flavor and vapor! So far, no leaking, no gurgling and no trouble. I can only imagine what the 0.5 ohm coils will do. They have excellent air flow adjustment as well. I am an old Kanger fighter from way back and I have to say that for my thoughts as of now, Kanger has gotten their act together.

Anyone else using these things yet?

Kinda disappointed with NT right now. Love their juices but since they are all 50\50 mixes besides surebert right now I've tried about every coil setup I can do from singlr, dual, parallel and twisted, with twisted being my favorite to prevent spitting. I have not found any build to minimize it. Might have to step away until they get their line of max vg juices.

Sorry to hear that jeffreyace. I hope you find an eliquid you are happy with.

Man, I never get any spitting unless something is wrong with the build. What is your equipment and atty along with coil wire sizes, coils sizes, wire type and ohms?

It sounds like you are boiling the juice.

Sigelei 100watt, right now it's a .41 twisted 28ga on a 1/16 bit. Used anywhere from 30watts to 45 watts On a mutation x v2.
also have a sig 50watt with a single 28ga twisted 3/36 bit .8 ohm on a clt v2.
I've used numerous dual coil builds anywhere from .3 to .9 ohms, built a .4 parallel and a .8 parallel yesterday but didn't like that style but it still spit. The duals spit and the singles spit and the parallel spit, the twisted seems to spit less. Currently have a different juice that is higher vg, from a different company (doesn't disclose percentages) Spits only on warmup where all my NT juices spit throughout each pull

My nano should be here Monday. Can't wait to rip apart those coils and mess with them. he he
