The Original Taboo is Back!!!!!!!!

Thanks Queen, although my curiousity is piqued about how it was supposed to taste, I think I will pass.

If you are a fan at all of RY4 and/or the variants, then Taboo will become your "go-to" juice immediately. LiquidXpress hit the gold mine with their version of it. It is really incredible...

It is sad that so many people had a first introduction to it based on a bad mix, but now that they fixed the problem, you really should give it a shot (maybe in small sample form).

I am a fan of RY4 which is why I wanted to try the Taboo but I just can't afford to take the chance of wasted money again. Thank you for the input though.

No Rob. I'm not hinting at anything. I just saw the first post about the Taboo and it caught my attention. Then I was curious about it which is why I asked the questions about when the bad batch was. I didn't know there had been a bad batch. I was serious when I said I figured there must be something wrong with me (please no comment about that) because....... I'll just say I didn't care for it. But now I know (maybe) it was for the other reason. I would have left it at that but both Queen and namuch addressed me and I have always found it rude to not respond when I see a response directed at me.

So that's that. No hidden hints.

I get the impression you think I am trying to cause some problem for you but rest assured that is not my intent at all. The clarification was good and I never even contacted you about it so obviously I'm not trying to cause you problems.

I suspect that some time in the future I will break down and try it again because I still remember how good everyone says it is.

So again, I am sorry if you felt there was some double meaning. There isn't.

I honestly wish you only the best.

See, now I have to respond or I would feel like I am ignoring you.

Seriously though, I very seldom complain to a vendor if I don't like a juice even if I think it is the most putrid thing I have tried as I am very much aware that taste is subjective. That wasn't a direct reference to the Taboo by the way. The only way I would say something is if I knew there was something off about it. Unfortunately when I first tried the Taboo, I had no reference point at all. So I just didn't know.

I'm actually very sorry you got a bad batch. It must have caused you many headaches.

The Taboo I recieved last week was a clear color and tasted like a generic ry4 and not taboo, is that the bad one?

More info is needed. Taboo flavoring is clear, it's get's a slightly golden color as it get's higher in MG. It should taste like RY4 with caramel and vanilla undertones.

The "other" taboo was pink most of the time, and tasted more like kettlecorn than caramel.

I have ordered taboo 3 times and gotten three different flavors each time. The first one i ordered was a darker red, and it tasted great, very strong caramel ry4 flavor. The second one i ordered was the pink one that tasted like kettlecorn. This last one I received is clear and it tastes like a dekang ry4.

Wow...I don't get Dekang RY4 at all. I use to be a huge RY4 fan and strayed from it because of the Taboo. It was so much better and quite different for me.

Well Badfish, if you are who I suspect you are, the orders you have had come to you, of the three, the first was for taboo carto's only. That was at the beginning of May. Those were the taboo carts that were more "kettlecorn"ish. The second order shortly after, had a bottle of taboo liquid that should have been dark red/pink and should have had a kettlecorn taste as well, the third would have been recently and yes it should have been clear/lightly golden. The lightly golden Taboo is the way we formulated it originally back in March of 09 and had it that way all the way thru Dec of 09. We changed the color then to use a color chart on our liquids so we could tell them apart by site. Around the Lunar new year the taste starting changing slowly becoming more and more off until about 3 1/2 weeks ago when we starting working out the taste issue with our chemist and brought it back to the original taste and color (because well, people liked the golden color).

So that in a nutshell is exactly what happened over the course of 6 months with the flavor. Both the Taboo carts, and the liquid now are as they were in 09. Also what device are you using now, voltage strength and change which flavors are more pronounced.

To make a long story short, a large portion of our clients wanted the old taste / look back. So we brought it back.

Maybe you could try to buy some in the classifieds. Some people didn't like it when it was pink (and tasted like kettlecorn) because it was not the original Taboo.

This will be the Taboo from now on. We do still have Kettlecorn cartos though.

Thanks. Ya the darker red doesnt taste like the kettlecorn, the lighter pink one does, i still have 1 ounce of that one, but I only ordered the small bottle of the dark red. I only have a few drops left, if you want I can send it to you so you know what I am talking about flavor wise, maybe you made an expiermental bottle and sent it to me by accident. Either way it was good as are all the juices I have tried from you guys.

Wow, I ordered taboo for the 1st time a few months ago and it was (and still is) pinkish/orangish color. I was expecting it to have an RY4 flavor but it definitely did not.
I kinda feel a little peeved now seeing this thread. I would like to try the "real" taboo(as I love ry4 and ry4 variants). For those that ordered & paid for the non-genuine, pink taboo, is there anyway to get a sample of the "real" Taboo to see what it's supposed to be like??

P.S. I ordered on 4/2/2010 with order #1270142662-158(Taboo 18mg). Was this the genuine or the non-genuine???

This wasn't an issue of one batch being way off all of a sudden. This was a very gradual change over time from about March - End of July. The only way we even knew about it was a random comparison to a six month old bottle. Your bottle on 4/2 was close to the original, it's the bottles in June that really went off on a tangent.
