Boden didn't take the whole base apart on the k4 :D

Yeah, 21 parts are o rings. But, still, if you completely dismantle for cleaning, including all the o rings and seals, it is a pain.

And if you had a leak, can you imagine trying to figure out which o-ring was bad?:D

On my first one, 3/4 of them were the wrong sizes! And the whole thing was caked in some horrible tar like substance  I had to break it all down to boil it, and replace every o ring and seal.

I DON'T like a super airy draw. I MTL vape only. The one time I tried a lung hit, I thought I was going to lose a lung. :D The draw on the KF 3.1 is perfect for me. As is the Erl with the airflow ring half open. The Rose is perfect, too, and most people complain that it's too tight.

ETA: Andria, I would bet that Boden has the 4S kit installed on that kayfun. It gives it a much bigger airhole.

Hmm, I dunno, he's sort of a tootler. :D

I just eyeballed my Achilles' airhole... I'd estimate it at somewhere between 1.2-1.5mm; Frog in Fog's page says it's 2mm, but that appears to be the *outer* diameter, not the inner, OR, maybe they're referring to the small hole on the side, which might be 2mm -- that inner one under the coil is nowhere near that large! To me, this atty has PERFECT airflow -- it's like a carto, or like those evil old friends of ours, which are the things I'm trying to simulate the experience of. :D I craved that particular oral sensation/activity when I tried the patch, and there's only so many milkshakes you can consume before they have to roll you everywhere you go. :D

Why would you break it down any further than I did for cleaning.

When I get a new tank I break it down, remove the o-rings place them on my parts grid (project mat) , wash the metal bits with everclear, wash the o-rings in soapy water, then rinse everything in distilled water.

Then I assenble acording to my parts grid.

Once in use I haven't done anything more than a quick rinse under the tap to any tank I've ever had.

I would have sent it back. That's disgusting

It was a gift. I didn't want to put my friend out. There were just a ton of issues though, including parts that weren't tightened down, and the jc getting stuck.

I just have a giant batch of every size o ring I could possibly need so I don't buy rebuid kits. Same with screws.

A friend here in town asked me to prep a v4 that he got off fastech. I opened the clone Svoemesto box removed the clone poster and... OMG!!! It smelled like dead fish. It was covered in this wax like gunk that resembled old fry grease. I soaked it in gasoline for a day, took it out, rinsed it in turpentine, then windex, then water.

The spares kit was a joke.

All the o-rings were junk from the start so I made a needed parts list.

1. Complete rebuild kit
2. New chimney section (threads were too badly cut to use)
3. New jfc base (threads were seized)

I told him he could buy $40 worth of parts or stop buying crap clones from fastech... :D

Probably the same one as mine. I did get it working and clean though with maybe $2 worth of o rings.
