Another question for all you Kayfun experts: can I use a KF lite base on a KF 3.1?

I was playing around with one of my 3.1s this evening because it really gripes me that I can't seem to get the wicking to work well for more than 1 tank. I decided to try KGD cotton since I've been using rayon. After wicking, I filled it up using the new top-filling tops that TrollDragon told me about (those are really great!) I did the normal close off the airflow, turn it upside down after filling for 10 seconds, open the airflow, and then turn it back right side up.

It started leaking really bad. At first I thought it was coming from the airflow holes, but realized it was coming from that side fill valve. It evidently wasn't completely closed. So I stuck a needle tip inside there and tried to get the check valve to close but it wouldn't. So rather than lose my whole tank, I ended up putting some electrical tape over the hole so I could vape the tank. It really looks funky, but I can't think of anything else to use to plug up that hole. So it occurred to me to get a KF lite base with the fill screw on the bottom. I could still top fill it and never even undo that screw at all. But I have no idea if it will work on a 3.1. What say you, Kayfun experts?

On the bright side, the new wick is wicking well and I got a nice vape. We'll see what happens in tank #2.

Yes it will work just fine. The Kayfun Lite base will come with all the parts you need to plug it into your 3.1 tank.

If you lung hit at all you can get a Monster V2 or V3 base those will work too. I have one and they vape really nice.

Seriously, Svoemesto knows it happens to their originals & provide the solution. Even if it's something stuck in the gap squirting alcohol thru it should do the trick.

Maybe I should just get a wad of chewing gum and stuff it in there. The things we have to do to make some of our attys work.

Skulpey comes in handy in many situations. I was thinking it might make some nice drip tips.

If you lung hit at all you can get a Monster V2 or V3 base those will work too. I have one and they vape really nice.

I do lung hits on a KFL+. I just slipstream them a bit.

Geez, there are $5 and $7 kayfun monster clones on FT. How cheap can an atty get? I may actually get one. That $7 one comes with 5 drip tips. It might be worth having just for those.

Also, did those of you who use factory coils notice the Kabuki clone the other day? Might be a good addition for our budget minded shoppers or even for spare parts.

I can tell you about my silver one that's been running for about 6 weeks . What would you like to know?

The black one needs a bath and I'll test it on the Renegade mod when it and new batteries get here. I currently have 10 dual battery mods in use testing stuff so I've maxed out my married pairs of batteries. I was down 2 pairs anyway because my old Sigelei 100W needs new ones.

Bellus and new Nectar are bathing. I just finished washing the 8 Bellus glass and 6 Nectar tanks. If someone walked into my kitchen right now s/he wonder what the heck all those are. The clone glass fits the Bellus perfectly.

Oh, and the Nectar has a delrin insulator just like my first one. No heat shrink tubing, lol!

I just noticed that the authentic Nectar has what look like the same green colored shrink wrap tubing as the micro clone on FT. Seems weird they would use this instead of derlin. The only thing i can think of is that the green shrink stuff has a higher temp rating than regular derlin and they didn't want to spring for a peek insulator.

On the Nectar you will see the airholes in the center and the wick holes are at a diagonal. Line your drill bit or whatever you wrapped your coil on with those to trap your leads. The third hole is for filling.



Then cut a wick long enough to reach the bottom of the tank and gently stuff it down the wick holes.

Thanks, Roxy. That's exactly what I wanted to know. I wasn't sure if the wick got stuffed down in the tank, or if you used rolled up mesh and stuck that down in the tank with the wick touching it. What you did sounds a heck of a lot easier.

You could use mesh feeder straws if you want. Or a mesh U wick.
