I bought a 5 pack from walgreens last night and spent about 30 minutes gutting them. This morning I hit up the dollar tree and looked and looked but couldn't find any of those spray sanitizers so I picked up some of those grow in water toys for my son. I head to the checkout and sure enough there's 12 of them hanging on a peg. ask me how I know there was 12 of them. lol.
I may have found a little shortcut for everyone. The product is "OOPS multi-purpose remover" it works wonders on getting the silk screening off of the walgreens sticks. It also removes the sheen which makes the case easier to paint. You don't need to sand (although a fine sanding will always give a better finish).

Thanks for sharing these everyone. I will be hitting up Walgreens on the way home. LOL I wonder if there could be a competition on the most decorative case.
I havent read through all 11 pages of this thread so this might have been mentioned already, but some mechanical pencils have a removable metal clip that's used to hold the pencil securely in your pocket. If you can find one of those pencils (dont remember the brand), you could just remove the clip from the pencil and slip it right on your e-cig. Should work like a charm!

However, I'm not trying to discredit the OP's case. I think it's REALLY cool, especially the ones that had so much work put into them.
To the OP, I saw on one of the earlier pages where someone mentioned using RIT dye to color the case. Very good idea and I dont know if you've tried dyeing one yet, but you'll need an extra ingredient to make the dye grab onto the plastic. Use cold water to mix the dye powder and mix it really well first, then add the case to the dye bath and slowly add just a little bit of 100% acetone. No real measuring required, just a dash here and there until you see the color really start to change on the case. Just dont pour way too much acetone in there or leave the case in the mixture for an extended amount of time. You'll end up screwing up the case if you do.
Small science-ish breakdown...the acetone softens up the plastic. The water content of the dye bath being higher than the acetone content balances things out and keeps it from making the plastic cloudy and/or destroying the plastic. When the plastic is softened up, the dye will absorb into the plastic MUCH better than just a plain old water and dye powder mix.
I modify and customize yoyo's as a hobby and I've used this method countless times to change the colors of them. Just remember that the basic color rules that you learned in pre-school still apply here. If the plastic is one color, adding another color will mix the two colors and have a different end result. Also, you can only dye the plastic a darker color than it already is.
Sorry for the long-winded-ness. I just happen to be full of useless (or useful?) information. I've also been told that I'm full of something else, but that's neither here nor there.

Also, if you decide to use acetone in your dye mix, DO NOT, and I mean !DO NOT! heat the final mixture or use hot water for the initial dye mix. Acetone has a MUCH lower boiling point than water and adding acetone to hot water can create a flash boil and totally ruin your day.
Nothing like trying to explain to the wife why her countertops are now permanently stained some pretty shade of blue or green because you just HAD to dye something in the kitchen. Not that I've done that or anything, but you get the idea.

By the way that OOPS cleaner is naptha based if I'm not mistaken.... So you could use zippo or any other brand wick lighter fluid to clean and remove the decoration on the case. I use lighter fluid often to remove sticky substances such as stickers from plastics and metal etc....
Just figured I'd help someone if they cannot find that OOPS cleaner, plus lighter fluid is cheaper and readily available and if you quit smoking and have zippos you can use up yer lighter fluid supply since you won't be using it for smoking!!!

I have a Sidesho and It fits great.
The only thing I changed was adding foam in the top and bottom to protect my ecig.

I can't see your "art" work but it does sound like it's great! I'm gonna give this a try so keep fingers crossed for me!
Thank you for the compliment! I sanded the color off the tubes with fine sand paper to make it pores, then I used fingernail polish and painted the base color on then I used mod podge (it is what they use to glue puzzles together, it dries clear) to protect and finish. I cut out little pictures from magazines and mod podged away!! I've been using them heavy all week and no paint has come off, still in great condition.
I love this because my 510 fits in like a glove. The inside of the cap has some excess plastic in it and when I put the cap on my 510 is held in place so no banging around. This is an awesome idea.
