Somewhere in PA on my Ultra Limited
I like to adjust the pin up on the atty so that at first contact the atty is ~1/8th turn from where I want the whole and then snug it down using that last 1/8th turn. you could do the same thing by adjusting the pin till your atty has a tiny gap then snug it flush. Another trick that sometimes works is to set the pin high and then kind of ratchet the atty (twist in/out repeatedly) and the contact will some times adjust itself down in small increments because it's reverse threaded.

And just for clarity, I'm not talking about over tightening the atty on the contact. Once contact is made a very slight additional (that 1/8th turn or less) is enough to make the contact tight.

Edit: that video Tony posted of Hlias using the "ratcheting method" is a great tutorial. Only thing I would add is that some of my Poldiacs wouldn't self adjust like that till after the first time I cleaned the contacts and the threads loosen up a little smoother.

Hey Tony, I loved your pic of you holding your Poldi over the water. I wasn't clever enough at the time, but there's definitely some kind of good joke there about lifeguard jumping in "to save the Poldi..." :D

Thanks. Ya know im a clown What's funny is I have no fear with it. Except for loosing it If it fell to the bottom. Just dry and mov on. Refill. Too. Provari would be dead I love it!

By the way loving the orbtronic

Despite the issues with mine, I'm very much a fan as well. Could just be the "new shiny" effect, but I don't think so.

And apparently, they'll take care of me if I can't get it sorted. I just want to make sure it's the cap before I email.

Youre taking a backseat . Youre allowing fear to control. You. Do what I showed you. It will help with future issues as well on all devices. I know I seem to have.a Rough approach. But I really want to help you.

not sure i understand... if it fires when the pin is raised all the way, and if the pin adjusts low enough that the atty will sit flush, there should be some position where the atomizer will sit flush and the pin will make contact. maybe just needs a little more fiddling?

also, make sure the top cap of your poldiac is always screwed on tightly - i thought i had a firing issue with my poldiac one time (did that always sits flush wouldn't fire), but it turned out that i'd unscrewed the top cap maybe a half a turn, and it was enough to break contact.

Exactly my problem and why I cant wrap my head around it. There should be some position where the atty is flush and the pin is making contact. But so far I cant find that position unless the pin is raised up high. And my top cap is tight. I think I will play with it again until I get it right. Hopefully. Thanks vapo

Yeah the ratcheting method doesn't seem to work on my Poldiac. The thing is, I've got it to the point where when the atty is raised 1mm off the top cap, it fires. But if I lower the pin by half a turn and snug the atty down (still has quite a gap), it doesn't work. I'm trying to figure out where the problem is but I cant see it. Its just weird.

Yeah, I had it. I can push just fine, but pulling doesn't work great, since the cap slides right off the atomizer for all the ones that fit. I guess I'll do it again with the one that fits but isn't built, so I can just ignore the top cap and not get my hands covered in juice.

Am I the only one that thinks it's kind of ridiculous that a $200 mod needs that kind of treatment to work right?

Edit: A few more things work, but not everything.

I knew you were going to say that. The tolerances are so close that if a device made with less precision is used these issues happen. Looking at the glass half full. Sorry the combination needs some massaging. But it's worth it. Hang in there. ,!

Oh, it definitely is worth it. Kind of ridiculous, but I get that. And it does work with a few more things now, just not everything.

The Poldiac + iGo-L has become my go-to at home, just like the Reo+RM2 usurped everything for binging out as soon as it got here. I really like the thing, I just wish I could be more confident that a new atty I got for it would work without "Massaging".

Along those lines, any suggestions for stuff that works particularly well? I've got a couple things called Trident Clones that seem to copy the idea more than the design that I'm hopeful for as well as a couple Divers whenever atmomixani gets around to shipping them. But, suggestions in the realm of rebuildable drippers that would look right and perform well would be appreicated. Max budget around 100 USD.

I know this might not be predictable, but things nice enough to be likely to work without fussing.

i just picked up a nimbus, posted a pic a few posts back. my poldiac is all polished stainless, and the nimbus looks like it was made for it. my apartment has been cloudy since i got it set up...

EDIT: forgot, i added the pic as my avatar as well :)
