Well I finally got to use, hold, even play with a P3 at a local B&M that has one for beta testing, and of course is a Provape distributor.
Pros:
It seems the unit has an adjustable flat head; meaning you can adjust the contact clearance for different attys.
If the adapter is removed it has the same beveled appearance as the P2, but I do not know if can be used that way?
Feel was good, and adjustment was pretty simple.
It had an extension ring and the extended cap to complete the P3 unit; if the extension ring is removed it is the same length as a mini.
The above set up was using an 18650 battery.
It fired a .8 Kanger dual coil at 2.9 volts flawlessly,
but so do my P2.5'!
Cons:
If your a Provari 2.5 owner (I have three) it is a hard sell at whatever the MSRP will be; the owner paid $325.00 for their "tester" and they had nothing to substantiate the production models for sale would be much less.
The display is pretty compact because it has a lot more in it than the P2 series, and it could be a tad larger, but of course again this would be an engineering issue of what you can fit in a small tube.
Compact meaning it had a lot going on (quite a few items being displayed at once and pretty small letters and numbers).
With everything considered, if I did not have three P2.5', yes I would buy one, as with anything from Provape it is a quality product and you always get what you pay for.
Thoughts:
Although I am not a vape tech (meaning I do not use fancy sub ohm attys with weird battery arrangements and the like) some would probably prefer some additional functions like lower than 2.9 volts, or variable resistance (which is a bogus setting anyway, as you cannot really vary resistance).
From what I saw it has some additional settings for varying the wattage which I think is more over to appease the crowd thats wants variable everything as again like resistance, wattage is usually a set value based on the actual electrical load (how much electricity is being used).
If you don't have a Provari and this unit is similar in price to the 2.5, of course I would buy one! If it's $300.00 or more and only available in B&M stores as I have heard, and I could get a P2.5 from Provape, or the B&M stores I may have a hard time spending the extra for more bells and whistles.
Just my humble opinion.
Keep Vaping!
