FIRST REVIEW TIME!
Well after being requested multiple times to post up a review of this mod I figured it's about time. Doesn't look like there's too many. Had a busy week but got around to unpackaging it today. I will use categories and review and rate the mod under each category. This is a completely unbiased review and being a high-end mod I will be comparing it with the best out there.
Anyway here it goes. This is THE RAMBLE by PROMIST. It is a 23mm high-end telescoping tube mod coming from Japan with a locking bottom firing button. It is made from 303 stainless steel and has Rhodium/Silver contacts (this is an extra option). I believe the stock option is brass. My Ramble is the brushed/polished mix.
Presentation & Visual Impression: 9.5/10
I was very very impressed by the packaging and presentation of this mod. It comes in a cardboard box stamped with their logo filled with packing material so nothing gets damaged. The mod itself comes in a velvet sleeve and there's some origami included in the box too, which very very cool. Comes with an allen key and extra spring. I would give this a 10 if it came in some sort of wooden box or equivalent. But as far as comparing it to the competition, I am very impressed. Most high-end mods out there do not even come close to this level of presentation which I believe is very important considering it is a high-end mod after all.

I always clean my mods as SOON as I get them and to be honest I really don't think this needed it at all. While cleaning the mod I didn't notice any machining oil anywhere on the mod. Very impressed with the first impression. The polished/brushed mixed finish looks almost IDENTICAL to the GP PAPS X (I will post comparison pics later) and looks very slick. The finish on The Ramble is just a tiny bit "less brushed" than the PAPS X. I am a huge fan of brushed finishes with polished bits mixed in. Not a huge fan of pure mirror polished SS.
I must say, I LOVE the logo. I realize this is personal preference but it is a great touch to the mod.
Machining and Construction: 9/10
Almost perfect. All the threads are TURBO smooth. Out of the box it has a little squeaking but that went away as soon as I cleaned it. Same exact thread pitch (20mm x 1 I think) and feel as the PAPS X. I prefer solid tube mods compared to telescoping but the quality on this is so good I just can't say the fact that it is telescoping is a downside. Compared to the other telescoping mods I have this one blows them out of the water. Everything fits so nicely together. The reverse threaded lock ring works wonderfully. Only flaw it has is that it sometimes gets a little bit stuck in its fully unlocked and fully locked position. And by a little I mean a LITTLE. Nothing to fret about. The throw is short and effortless, much like the PAPS X. Like the Nemesis, the top pin adjusts to suit what atomizer you are using and it is a HUGE pin. Very easy to adjust by hand. THIS PIN WILL WORK WITH FLAT TOP BATTERIES. I was a bit worried it wouldn't because the pin is larger than the contact point on the positive part of a flat top battery, but it works just fine with them. The logo and serial number are on the bottom tube and have sort of a textured finish to them. Almost feels like a matte finish. Feels like at some point in the future it might wear. Not a huge fan of this I would prefer an engraved feel but time will tell how it wears.
To make this a perfect 10 I would prefer 316 SS vs the 303 and the logo engraving to have a different feel to it.

Size & Feel: 9.9/10
Honestly, WOW. I love the feel of this mod.
I whole heartedly have to say it's the most comfortable mod I have ever held. It's like it's engineered to fit perfectly in your hand. I hold it with my thumb and index finger in the middle groove and fire with my door knocking knuckle of my ring finger. Feels better than any high-end mod I've used. Now I have only used it in 18650 mode because I sub-ohm regularly so I wouldn't know about it in any other modes. Feels extremely sturdy. Little heavier than the neme. Little lighter than the PAPS X. Really feels like something that is built with quality.
Now I prefer 23mm mods so this is great for me. It is small. In 18650 mode it's just a bit bigger than a PAPS X and about the same length as the Nemesis.
I gave it a 9.9 (haha) because of one tiny tiny tiny little flaw. The edge of the top of the bottom tube has a bit of an edge to it. Not nearly as bad as the GMS or EA mod but yes it is noticeable (barely). The edge has been smoothed down but if it was tapered that would be the bees knees but really not a big deal at all.

Functionality: 9.5/10
Choo choo! Hits like a train as expected with the Rhrodium/Silver contacts. Up there with the best of 'em. I don't have a voltage drop meter so I can't say exactly what it's votage drop is but it hits just as hard as a PAPS X or Nemesis. The button functions perfectly. You can push it on the very edge with your fingernail with the same amount of pressure that you would be pushing it dead center of the button and it actuates the exact same way. No matter where on the button you push it, it fires the exact same. Can't stress how effortless the throw on the button is. Standing up, unlocked it will NOT fire. It is a bit wobbly though because the button is a smaller diameter than the mod. It won't fall over on it's own but if you had it on a table and accidentally kicked it, down she goes. Not a huge concern. Once you lock it the wobbly-ness goes away. Don't have much else to say that I already haven't. Does what it's supposed to and does it damn well. Only flaw is that it's a telescoping mod, but that's more personal preference than anything. If you like telescoping mods change the 9.5 to a 10.
Price: 8.5
Relatively average. For the mixed brushed/polished mod with the Rhodium/Silver contacts I paid $225. For guys and gals just getting into mech mods and don't wanna spend a lot of dough, look elsewhere but for your collector this is pretty average. Now is it worth it? Abso-freaking-lutely. I have mods that cost the same that don't shake a stick at this thing.
Conclusion:
Well, I know this mod is pretty new to the market and there's not many reviews out there for it. Hopefully this will help you guys out. If you like telescoping mods this is definitely one to add to your squad. If you don't like telescoping mods but are looking for something to maybe change your mind, this is your winner. I know I compare it to the PAPS X a lot, but it really is like a telescoping version of it with a different button design. I love it. Gonna give it a few weeks of daily usage and will report back. I'll throw some pics of it with a couple atty's on it below.
Cheers!
