washvap,

I obviously didn't make the point I wanted to (must have gotten lost in my own pontificating).

I don't think there's anything wrong with your posts, or your opinions, or your taste buds. I appreciate seeing a diversity of opinions on this thread. Fan-type love-fest threads have their place as a celebration of shared belonging, but this thread thrives on friendly differences of opinion. I'm glad you're here and appreciate your honesty.

I happen not to like the "signature" bases of two of the Forum's most popular juice vendors: Halo and Kick Bass Vapor. Thousands of people love their juices. My taste buds react badly to Halo's juices, and while I think that KBV is unsurpassed in their mastery of sweet vapes, I do tire of them quickly. I have nothing against either vendor and wish them both all the success they can garner. I also know, however, that I am not alone. I'm not the only ECF member who doesn't love Halo's and KBV's juices. At least some of those people remain silent and don't post their feelings out of fear of being flamed or hurting someone's feelings.

Todd at Vaperite won't be upset that his tobacco base is not pleasing your tastes. As I wrote earlier today, I don't like Vaperite APV Tobacco. When I began the thread, I worried about my rankings being bogus because I wouldn't be "objective" enough. At this point, I just call 'em like I see 'em, and I trust (hope?) that people will understand.

As a relevant aside, one of the qualities that's knocking my socks off about Prime Vaping is that some of Jon's tobacco juices are made with natural extracts, others with straight synthetics, but they're all clean as a whistle. No "signature" base tonality at all, at least none that I can detect. I find this remarkable and downright unique.

Well, I'm glad that you didn't find my posts offending. I also think that a lot of people kind of hide their feelings about certain vendors because of the same exact reasons that you have given. Which is a shame because a lot of reviews/threads often seem lopsided. The result would be that newer members would see this without knowing the positives and negatives.

I haven't tried any of the Halo juices just yet simply because of cost but, I can see where KBV juices can get tiring after a while. Haven't tried any of their tobacco juices yet though. I really have to give prime vaping a try once my stock gets a little lower. Went crazy over the past month now ordering juices and it's going to be a little while before I try anything new. But, I'm still gonna probably get some 10ml bottle just to try it out. Oh yeah, just out of curiosity. How is the base different from the one used by vaperite? And which ones are made with natural extracts?

Curt at esmokeyshack.com was selling off the remainder of his stock for $5.00/30ml of his remaining Halo juices, you might want to check with him, that's how I got mine (was $10.00 at the time).

Halo is certainly a different breed of juice, I'll say that for sure. :)

True. I did pick up a bottle of Freedom & Torque shipped for $15. His email is esmokeyshack@gmail.com .

Don't really know what are in Halo juices but their taste is nothing like Vaperite. In fact the only juice that reminds me Vaperite it is Want2vape's.

Yeah, I've been wanting to try their Malibu and Tiki for a while but I usually like ordering in 10ml bottles to give me a proper amount so I can put it through the paces. But, thanks for letting me know about Want2vape. I don't wanna try another vendor that uses a similar base. Honestly, it's just an odd tobacco flavor.

Thanks yall! I'm going to give him an email and see if he's got any left in stock. Really wanna try Halo juices out for myself and see how I like them.

Over the course of the last 3 days I have read this entire thread! I wanted to say it reads like a novel and I am dying to try some of the RY4 I ordered! Talk about "building up" a certain flavor, LOL! I appreciate all of the interesting insight here and will continue to follow (and perhaps even contribute to) this thread!

^^ Just checked this out and said that I have insufficient priveledges to access this item. Oh well, email it is!
He was shutting down his operation, I think that's why you're getting an odd reply from the website, and that's why his prices are so low, he was trying to get rid of his remaining stock.
Definitely email him directly.

Just a quick aside to help you all save some money (sorry, don't mean to detract from the topic at hand) ecigexpress has a limited selection of 30ml halo juices on sale for $10 Halo e-Liquid Word of caution though, if you never tried halo, I wouldn't recommend getting these big bottles...I would order the sampler set from halo first to see what you like. Unfortunately tribeca, malibu and tiki (the 3 I love and would recommend) are not offered in their sale.

Thanks a lot for the link and advice! Might just order the sampler set or just some 5 mil bottles just to try it out.

And yeah, that's a shame since tribeca, malibu, and tiki are the juices that I really wanted to try from them :(
Honestly, I wouldn't mind getting the 30 mils if they were on sale. Ah well.....

Tiki is great! Yeah only Menthol Ice, TruePure, and a few others are available.. but still, thanks SweetPuff! Thats a great tip.

So, im finally vaping on VapeRite VR4, the ry4 recommended by billherbst. This is definitely more up my alley. I'm trying it on my Silver Bullet at 3.7V and its smooth and a bit more sweet than when i vape it on my Ego-T LR. On the Ego-T LR, it has more of a throat hit, and the deeper flavors come out more than the caramel undertones. Either way, its a good one. Billherbst, what do you vape your ry4's on? Just curious. I'd love to know. Im finding massive swings in taste depending on the atty/PV, and also different flavors come out when its cut with PG.

When I cut VR4 by about 20% PG, it actually tastes sweeter. Im going to try cutting with VG when i get some and see what that does.

Awesomeness all around! i love this forum!:p

rook,

Like many people on ECF, I have a whole gaggle of different PVs. For review testing, I tend to drip with a Joye 1.5 ohm LR atty powered by either a Hello 016 battery or a Madvapes VV box. For just sitting-at-my-desk regular vaping all day or by my bedside at night, I use cartos. I tried many of the various tank systems (CE2s, 3ml/5ml/10ml syringe mods, 510 tanks), fiddled endlessly to get them to work properly, then finally threw them all out in disgust months ago---tanks seem fine for flavor and vapor production, but no throat hit at all, and 90% of them leak like sieves. Some people don't like cartomizers, but I'm happy with the ones I use:

These PVs all get loaded with 1.5 ohm mega XL dual coils:
Madvapes VV boxes (4)
Shan's Big Splash VV
Little Sister VV
Big Brother VV (2)
Omegas (2; run with 5V custom batteries)
Maxi RoughStack (also run with a 5V custom battery)
Hello 016 batteries (2)

Some of my PVs either won't fire dual coils or simply vape better with other cartos. On these I use Standard 3-ohm and LR 2-ohm Boges, or 2.5 ohm Ikenvape Gold V2s:
Big Daddy vari-cool VV
5V regulated Big Kazoo (2)
3.7V single-14500 box mods (2)
5V Passthroughs (2)

I've also got three bottom-feeders that I run with LR 306 atties at 3.7V:
Phidias Wooden Feeders (2)
Missy Wetbox

All my PVs get a little vaping time every day, because I'm a juice bumblebee, flitting from one flavor to another every two minutes. I vape at least 25 different juices every day, none of which are RY4s. Because of this thread, however, I spend an hour or two every couple days comparison-testing RY4s from the list to see if steeping changes might cause me to alter my rankings.

Interesting. I'll have to try that.

If I may ask, where do you get your dual coils from and what thread are they?

GM,

All my stuff is 510. I have some 808 cartos (Bloog sent me five with their RY4 sample, and I have some others bought dirt-cheap on clearance) that I could run with adapters, but I'm happy with my 510 cartos, so I don't bother.

My mega-XL 1.5 ohm duals have all been purchased from Crystal Clear Vaping until my last order from deejstuff, whose prices are the best I've seen: I bought 15 for $23.75, which included First Class Shipping. (Link is below.)

5-pack - SMK 510 XL clear dual coil cartomizers - $7.50 : deejStuff eLiquid, The Apocalypse can wait...

Readers of the entire thread may recall discussion among some posters about Bloog RY4 and Smokeless Image RY4, which they liked and considered similar. That was back in the middle of the thread (posts #261-264 on page 27). The posters suggested that I request sample bottles of RY4 from Bloog and Smokeless Image for review, and also Breezesmokes RY4, which I did.

That led to a small brouhaha involving my being rebuffed brusquely by the owner of Breezesmokes, which was sufficiently unpleasant to cause me to back away from requesting any more review samples from vendors. Now my policy is: If people want me to review an RY4 from a vendor not yet on the list, that's fine, but they have to provide me with a sample by sending me a PM to get my address, then mailing me the sample.

At the time, though, Bloog agreed to mail me a sample of their RY4, and a couple weeks later, so did Smokeless Image. I received the Bloog sample and posted my review on July 19th in post #355 on page 36. I liked Bloog RY4 a lot and gave it a very high ranking---#5 on the big list.

Today I got in the mail a 10ml sample bottle of Smokeless Image's Liquid Volt RY4. The first thing I did was to get out the 5ml bottle of Bloog RY4 and compare both juices visually. They were exactly the same color (a light gold) and the same consistency, from what I could tell (implying the same base, probably all-PG, although neither bottle specified a PG/VG base or ratio). There was one difference: the Bloog was 24mg nic strength, while the SI Liquid Volt was 18mg.

I prepared identical setups---two Joye 1.5 ohm LR atties powered by two Madvapes VV boxes, both set to 4.0 volts, providing about 10 watts of power---and dripped five drops of each RY4 into the atties, then comparison-vaped them.

Guess what? They're the same juice! Well, almost. The Bloog has more a tad less flavor and more powerful throat hit at 24mg, while the SI Volt has slightly more flavor and less throat hit at 18mg. Otherwise, they're exactly the same to my taste buds. Both are very tasty.

While spokespeople for either vendor might claim that their juice is custom-made at the factory to their own specific formula/recipe, I'm going to assume that these two RY4s are identical and "canned," meaning that the ingredients and recipe mix were determined by the factory (whether from Dekang, Joye, Hangsen, or wherever) rather than specified by the vendor. In other words, these are very tasty RY4s, but I don't think either of them is custom made. It does show, however, that Chinese factory-made juice can be very good.

I won't post a separate review for Smokeless Image Liquid Volt RY4, but I will change the designation in all future rankings lists from "Bloog RY4" to "Bloog/SI Volt RY4."

One more thing: If these two vendors, both of whom are popular and cater mostly to 808 users, are selling exactly the same RY4 in their prefilled cartos and pre-mixed bottles of juice, then are other vendors also selling the same pre-mixed juice? I don't know, but common sense leans in that direction, and it's something worth checking out.
