So the Vaporboost RY4 Deluxe came in ......First of it had that cookie smell to it with caramel and vanilla and I was like this should be great. So I get it going and........I have been down this road, it is different though in its own way because its almost just like Spicy RY4 from ECBlends but just has the nutty tones, but really its nothing to exciting just a RY4 with a nutty kick. The more I vape it it almost reminds me of Tribeca also. I paid around $16.00 with free shipping and I will vape it because its not a horrible costume RY4 and the only RY4 I have with nut in it. So if you like Tribeca and Spicy RY4 this would be right down your road.

OK. I put Vaporboost RY4 Deluxe on The Big RY4 List, with a credited link to your review. I also put it in the Nutty group of Category Groups. I didn't include it on The RY4 Report Card, since those are my grades, and I haven't tried this one.

Here's a link for those who want to check it out or order some:

Freudian slip ?

More likely a typo---costom rather than custom that was then further mangled into costume by an auto-correct typing program.

I like your answer better, though. Heck, I even like "costume RY4."

Daffy Definitions
Costume RY4: an eliquid that masquerades as an RY4 by dressing up in RY4 clothing.

Although I probably should have known better, two weeks ago I ordered two 10ml RY4s---RY4 Medium and RY4 Mild---as part of a larger juice order from NicVape, during an 80% off sale for all their retail juices. I don’t know if this was a “clearance” or “close-out” sale (as it turns out, I hope it was, for NicVape’s sake). 80% off sales aren't offered very often, the prices were seductive---$1.49 for 10mls and $3.79 for 30mls, with cheap shipping---and my curiosity got the better of me. I bought 10 bottles of their retail juice, including the two RY4s. So, NicVape got $19.29 of my money, and I got… uh, what did I get?

Specs: All ten bottles were 16mg nic in an unspecified base blend that I’d guess to be 80/20 PG/VG from viscosity and vapor production. Colors of eight of the liquids varied from pale to medium amber transparencies. Two were dark---Clockwork Orange (orange and chocolate) was a transparent deep auburn, while Cappuccino was a cloudy dark brown. None of the juices had any discernible scent. Expiration dates on the labels varied by month, but all were listed in 2015. Assuming a two-year lifespan, that means that the juices were all mixed in 2013. Testing was done by dripping into a standard 2.3 ohm JoyeTech 510 atomizer powered by a VAMO set to 9.0 watts RMS.

Two of the juices, Cappuccino and Mountain Duh (an attempt to emulate Mountain Dew soda), are marginally acceptable. Not that I’m very likely to vape them. All the others---Apple Cinnamon, Apple Pie, Clockwork Orange, Pepper MD, both RY4s, Pumpkin Spice, and Pumpkin Pie---are just plain dreadful. They’re headed for a fate as pesticide on my garden. (The squishy plastic bottles are fine, though, so I'll wash them out and keep them.)

Am I being overly harsh? If you vaped any of these juices, I’m sure you’d agree.

The RY4s in particular are awful, among the worst concoctions to ever be sold with the name RY4 slapped on a label. I can’t pinpoint exactly what they taste like (nor do I wish to try), but it sure as hell isn’t RY4---not Classic, not Custom, not even something vaguely related to RY4. I guess they're sort of vaguely fruity, with no hint of tobacco, caramel, or vanilla. I refuse to even dignify this swill with more of a proper review. In fact, I really don't want either of them on The Big RY4 List, so they won't be included. Every RY4 lover should avoid them like the plague.

My questions (and concerns) are about NicVape more than about these liquids. NicVape is a vendor that’s been around for a long time---a fairly typical if undistinguished ecig vendor---selling juice, flavorings (TPA/TFA), liquid nic, and hardware.

Did anyone at NicVape ever vape any of these liquids? Could it be remotely possible that they actually considered the juices to be acceptable or even---heaven forbid---good? I truly don’t see how.

I sincerely hope that NicVape will throw out every juice and flavoring in its inventory, burn the recipes/formulas, hire a new juicemaker/flavorist, and start over from scratch.

I am also a discount junkie. I saw the 80% off sale from NicVape and thought it too good to be true. So I checked some threads here on ecf, and I found many negatives about them. Thankfully, I passed. Thanks for taking another one for the team, Bill.

If anyone wants a great discount for a great vendor (A- rank on their RY4), try the Vaper's Knoll - 50% off all juice until 3/2 with code: halfoffjuice

specs: The 5ml sample of Mister-E-Liquid MrE’s RY4 that was sent to me by ECF member Lbox88 (thanks!) is a pale-gold-colored liquid at 18mg nic strength in a 67/33 pg/vg blend. The juice has a pleasant aroma and smells sweet. Testing was done by dripping into a 1.7 ohm Joye LR306 atty powered by a wattage-regulated Kicked Bolt set to The Kick’s max output of 10 watts.

Mister-E-Liquid is a vendor that’s been around for quite awhile and has a solid following on ECF. Their extensive line of custom USA-made juices are handcrafted and made-to-order (I think) and include numerous distinctive flavors that lean away from standard, run-of-the-mill fare. The term “artisan juices” applies to MEL.

The MrE’s RY4 product page on the Mister-E-Liquid web site offers no vendor description, but it does have 18 customer reviews, 17 of which give the RY4 a top rating of five stars. (The other gives only three.) That’s a 94% highest approval rating. I’m never sure how much to trust customer reviews, but 94% five-star ratings is pretty good, eh? I think I know why.

As I vape MrE’s RY4 while writing this review, a single word comes to mind: nice. As we all know, nice is a word with multiple connotations. On the one hand, nice is sometimes used as a gentler and slightly less emphatic way of saying “good.” Other times, nice is offered as a diplomatic hedge when you don’t really have anything positive to say but don’t want to come right out and admit it, or if you hope to avoid the social awkwardness of possibly hurting someone’s feelings: “How was your blind date last night? Oh, he/she was nice.” Which is a kind way of saying that there won’t be a second date. In that context, nice is damning with faint praise.

When used with its positive meaning, nice is less passionate than “great” or “amazing”, and smoother than “good.” Nice is comfortable, like your favorite pair of jeans. It’s better than “OK” but short of “terrific.”

That’s how I feel about MrE’s RY4. It’s a nice, custom RY4 with a pleasing tobacco and fairly rich caramel, but with ample vanilla for balance. I might go so far as to say that it’s very nice. The tobacco has no off-flavors and great throat hit at 18mg, the candy flavors are spot on, and performance (which includes vapor production) is fine.

Have I vaped better RY4s? Yes. Have I vaped worse RY4s? Oh my, yes, lots of them. If RY4s ran a marathon, MrE’s RY4 wouldn’t be striding way out ahead of the pack, with its hair blowing in the wind, but it would be within striking distance of the pace-setters. And while it might not medal, it wouldn't fade halfway through the race, instead finishing strong, and giving a darn good account of itself. This RY4 has legs and can go the distance, because the individual flavors and overall mix are so pleasing. There’s no oddness or eccentricity here, nothing not to like. In short, it’s very nice.

Anyone who wants to make an RY4 that most people will enjoy could use MrE’s RY4 as a template. You do have to appreciate caramel, since this juice is caramel-rich, but the majority of RY4 lovers wouldn’t mind that at all. Same with the tobacco. While MrE’s RY4 doesn’t have the most potent or amazing tobacco flavor I’ve tried, people who love stronger tobacco wouldn’t kick this out of bed. Even the vanilla folks will approve of MrE’s RY4, since---unlike some RY4s---the vanilla here isn’t just a hint or vague afterthought, but shines through instead as a true flavor element. Nut lovers will have to look elsewhere, but that's OK, because they're a little odd, anyway.

See what I mean? MrE’s RY4 is a nice juice that should please most RY4 vapers, which obviously includes the 17 customers who gave it 5 stars on the MEL web site.

Mister-E-Liquid MrE’s RY4 grade: a nice, comfortable B+

I was going to write a review of Mr E's but I figured I would just bump this.

The caramel tastes like a real caramel in this one, it is just fantastic. It is among the sweeter RY4s but for someone who prefers caramel-rich RY4s over nutty, I like this one a lot. I think Mr Vape is still the best of the recommended ones I have tried, but the Indigo Classic, Butterfly's, and Mr E's all come pretty darn close adn are true premium RY4 blends. :thumb:

Thanks, dude. Yeah, I knew better, too, but I went deranged for a minute since I was going to buy the RY4s for review, anyway.

Oh well, it wasn't the first time (or the 20th or the 100th) that I've made a foolish purchase for vaping stuff, and I'm pretty sure it won't be the last. Now that my living room has enough vaping hardware, juice/flavorings, etc., to outfit an entire brick & mortar store, I am getting more selective. Took three years, though.

Heck, I was about to buy something else today. Started to check out when I remembered that my debit card had been hacked online last week (for the third time in two years), and I won't be able to order anything from American vendors (who don't take PayPal) until my new card arrives in two weeks. Just as well...

Cyber-theft is amazing. One day I'm fine, then the next day there's a thousand bucks worth of bogus charges in my account. I'm not liable for any of that, but it does require some inconvenience---trips to the bank, filling out paperwork, etc., then waiting for a new card. Modern cyber-hacking is such an enormous, well-organized endeavor that it makes the 1930s Mafia look like small-time pikers.

O.k., I guess I'm like you, a discount junkie, I can't pass up a sale at least the ones for 50% or more. I've never had their RY4 and bought 34ml, I added Dark & Mellow & Flavor #13, both 12ml bottles & Priority shipped, for one Jackson. :2cool: :vapor:

Darn, couldn't resist. 12 ml of Vapor's Knoll Our-Y4 on it's way. Darn darn darn!! I'm a sucker for a great sale! I would have tried more flavors but I am way over juiced at the moment, if that can ever happen (apparently not, I see a great sale, out comes the gift card!). I leave again for 3 weeks next Sunday, I sure won't run out of flavors!

I went for the big bottle too. I added the PY4 to the mix this time too. Who can resist maple syrup covered pancakes, right?
When talking about their RY4, I was wondering what pg/vg mix you guys were choosing? The check mark automatically starts at 70vg-30pg. Does anyone think that is the way they recommend it being purchased? I generally go 70/30 but with pg being on the higher side. Also has anyone had their RY4 with the favor boost? If so, would you recommend it? Thank you in advance.

I ordered my 12ml with 70/30 (vg/pg) and a flavor shot. Don't know if I should have asked for the flavor shot but since I usually order a high vg mix due to problems with high pg, I always ask for a little extra flavor and don't mind paying for it. So we shall see. With high vg mixes I also let them steep at least 1 week, usually more and shake vigorously daily.

I'd assume that the default base blend is "recommended."

Just a guess, but extra flavor might change the flavor profile of ouR-Y4 enough to nudge it away from being a Classic RY4 into Custom RY4 territory. Whether or not that's a good thing depends on the individual vaper.

Personally, I like higher VG bases in eliquids. The thicker viscosity produces a different mouth-feel. The vapor feels thicker and wetter.

I can't believe it. I made my order out and entered the 50% halfoffjuice coupon which worked. Before entering my card info I heard my daughter cry so I put my IPad down to check on her. When I came back I had to refresh the page sent the screen light went off and now the coupon won't work. Can you believe that!!!

That's what I am afraid of but we shall see. I might take a little and dilute it slightly if it is too strong to experiment.

Have you tried Sancia Smoke, Professor Marvels Master blend? I loved it in my clearos not so hot in my evod tank the flavor is muted.

Nashville Vapor sells Professor Marvels Master Blend. It was reviewed back in December, 2012.

It was given an A grade by Bill and myself. Since then, Bill slowly downgraded the grade to a B-. He does that with many of the custom RY4s that he grades. I think the new flavors are unique, rich and tasty, but they soon lose their luster. But with over 100 RY4s, all containing the same basic three flavors, it must get hard to judge each one consistantly. I still find Master Blend to be amongst the best of the custom RY4s.
