However, venting a vtc4 is still most likely user error.
I am not sure there are very many people vapers or not that could
correctly identify a vtc4 as authentic. That goes with with any and all
of the hardware. Not to be disparaging of the Chinese but they are
the 800 pound gorilla of the counterfeit world complete with quality,
grade and, price points to match. Check out watch lovers forums.
There are some scary counterfeits out there that require almost
complete disassembly to authenticate. There are Rolex wearers
wearing knock offs their watch maker would not suspect unless
opened. Considering the apparent lack of official documentation
on the markings on batteries when changed or appear different from
the same type battery it's easy to imagine certain scenarios.
Not accusing,just saying.

The first "battery" was discovered near Baghdad around 2000 years ago, and we, with all our knowledge and technological advances are still unable to harness the power from a battery in a safe manner. We are, at least in our own eyes, the most intelligent species on the planet, makes you wonder ?

No doubt that counterfeits are an issue, just saying that a hard short on an excellent battery will still cause it to vent.
