I just want to hug you Jack

YAY! The more hugs the better! =D

I missed you guys - this year has been pretty dern stressful but I *think* it's calmed down. Knock wood!! Brad's doing really well, he loves his work here much more than in Van so that rocks, and he's been writing new games like crazy too, so I think he's pretty pleased. =) The pets love the condo because there are 3 levels - everyone has room to spread out in now, and the cats spend tons of time barreling up and down the stairs at 400 mph. The stairs are not great for me with my weird leg but I'm doing lots of physio exercises and I get my leg brace on Friday so I should be walking a lot better after I get used to it. Yay!

I just have to find a really neat PURPLE rolling walker and I'll be set. ;) Not quite sure about that yet because my brain says aaaaaagh old lady walker, but I just have to swallow my pride and remember it'll let me walk better. =)

I can imagine the pride issue...but then, I'm all for using whatever tools you need to. Besides, it is yet another "thing" to leave your mark on and personalize.

Oh ya! We still need pictures of your new space, Jack! :)

I have a flickr set of them here: Toronto Haus - a set on Flickr. They're pretty crappy - taken on my phone cam which STINKS. I'll get Brad to take some better pics sometime. They're also taken when I was shaky after cleaning up a lot. The roof is really nice - there's the picnic table and we have now got a dog place for Una to sit up there with us, so she has shade when it gets hot. Aaaand there's a bbq up there that's connected to the house gas! Pretty neat. Our neighbours are really sweet - they have a giant great dane named Otis who loves Una, so we have across-the-fence bbq talks once in awhile. =)

I'm proud of you, Jack....just so you know. I know it's a huge deal, and you have had your moments of sheer terror and grief....but I'm proud of you for being so brave, facing it and plowing forward. I am so happy that you and Brad have a great place and things seem to be falling in place for you....but there are times like these that I wish I could just hop over the border and give you that hug.

Okay...back to the DOG PILE!!!!

Thanks, Rhaps. =) I knew you would understand. It's just kind of weird to get used to the whole idea of a disability. I'm used to chronic illness, but not this! =D What a dork I am. =) I have to learn how to use all this stuff properly too, so it's keeping me busy. And tired!

THE COOLEST THING... is the antigravity treadmill I get to use at physio. It inflates around your bottom parts and changes your weight up to 75% less than your real weight, so you can walk without the stress of weight, and without having to worry about falling over, because it holds you up. It's really coooool and I always end up laughing when I use it because it's so weird. When I stop it's kind of hard to get used to being heavy again is all. Dang! I want to have it running all the time but then I'd have to actually lose weight... haha! =D I have enough to worry about right now.

I've got to go but it was lovely to see you here Jack, please don't be a stranger and please say hi to the elegant, eloquent Brad for me and pat the fur babies.

See you all later, group hugs all round (((Reonauts))) :D

I will, and I'll tell Brad, even though it'll give him a swelled head. =D

Thank you so much, Rhaps. It really means so much to me. =) You rock, as usual!! Love you so much. =) As always, you are welcome to bounce over to our place any time - our place is small but we can all sleep on the floor with the cats. ;)

I love it! :) Una looks right at home!

It took her a bit of getting used to because of the stairs, and the park out back has lots of jumping up and down spots, which she was totally not used to. She had to use some anti-arthritis meds at first, but she doesn't need them anymore, and runs around like a bananahead now. 12 years old and she doesn't act much different than when she was a baby - just a lot more grey hair. Hmm, sounds like someone I know very personally...
