The food has been the most incredible of my life around here.
As my Grandma was 93 and a fantastic cook, the women around here poured their souls into preparing meals for the family as condolences.
This weeks meals have been sort of a ultimate tribute to the lives she touched and a feast has seemed quite fitting for a women who loved to cook for others, and took her kitchen very seriously

The spread for the party after the service was enough to feed 300 people and it was just close friends and family back at her house afterwards, so the leftovers are monumental.
A little list of what I've eaten since arriving, Boudin balls, boudin links, (from Krotz Springs) crawfish penne pasta, crawfish bowtie pasta, several jambalaya offerings (in huge bulk w/deer sausage!) crawfish pie, crawfish dip, bourbon lemon cake, whipped banana pudding, dobash cakes, andouille sausage links, fried chicken, seafood gumbo, various mac and cheeses, all home made by women I've know my whole life, except for the Krotz Springs boudin.
I'm freakin stuffed!!....guess it's time to go heat up some red beans and rice
