I know the guy on the other end wants to be there about as much as we want to go to a dentist. I also know the man that just served me a #1 Value meal from McDonalds tonight, who was a little older than me, probably wasn't part of his gameplan early in life. So whether you're being legally solicited or some dirty hustle, the plan stays the same. You let them pitch, faint interest, never insult them, excuse yourself. The phone jockey does his job, but his boss takes a hit. I mean, it's a passive way to hit 'em where it hurts, instead of just taking it out on the poor guy on the other end. Plus it wastes their resources, win-win.
I always try to be polite about it as well, but some peeps don't understand "sorry, I'm nut interested" and refuse to give up. Gives the rest of the telemarketers a bad rap
