Happy, happy anniversary lovely Mz D.

So I walk in to house 2201 from Walmart, huge haul, and Heeler girls didn't come in, wouldn't come in. They were going bonkers about 10 ft from fence and middle... something on ground. Enough light to see it was Copperhead, average adult ~30". Went out with flashlight and catcher. Snake almost dead but still moving slightly after I put it in snake barrel. I have front storm door closed and vigil begins to watch for swelling. Wish us all luck. As soon as I clamped it they were no longer interested except to smell the spot where it was. Have a sparkly......

I have plenty of benadryl and anti-biotics. Heeler girls have been really great about dodging bites but who knows who messed with it first.

On a vape note. Didn't take REO in store (don't usually although in there 2 hrs - long list). Had a few swigs on Smirinoff malt Screwdriver in car. The hint of cinnamon in my Vapor Craze Monkey Business really announced itself.

Hold those you love close in mind and heart.

Don't know if I'm being hyper aware but all of them are licking their paws. Don't see any swelling anywhere yet. Many years ago I looked out a back window and three young Mastiffs had a large Copperhead playing with it like a rope; one on each end and one in middle. Snake was dead and no bites.

Oh the things I've seen out my window. One time it was a Guinea hen with three Mastiffs pulling on it. It was long dead. The Guineas were so dumb we lost one every couple of months. Dave Peacock had more smarts. We think a Bobcat go him.

They likely have the smell of the snake on their feet so they will sniff and lick it.

be careful with them snakes momsy :)

Most usually am. Just went out to check on it and it is alive and feisty. Instant strike at catcher. It's in a tall metal barrel. I thought it was a gonner. Hognose (non venomous) typically play dead but I've never seen a Copperhead do that. It was flopped over on its back, light underside exposed, tongue hanging out. Only difference is Hognose secrete "slobber" when playing dead. I have to move the barrel into garage so as not to burn it up in sun and heat so we can properly and humanely kill it by bagging and putting in freezer. (And barrel is right by outside doggie door.) I don't like to do it alone and certainly don't want to deprive DH the thrill. He won't be home till Sat night. The snake catches have been sparse since drought starting three summers ago. We didn't water so most snakes moved on to neighbors' who watered. Lost a lot of plants but reward was fewer snakes and bites.

Hugs, Alice mom

here it is! got my cyclone on top and my drip tip, now a quick question, when using rbas on the reo is it normal for the reo to get warm? or should i take this thing off and check my coil?

Mine usually don't get hot except when I'm doing an extended pulsing dryburning with silica wick especially with the 14500 batteries in Mini. I've been using RM2s and cotton for over a month so dryburn of bare coil is pretty fast. I take several short draws, also. I would expect less heating with a larger battery like 18xxx, too.

Gotta go unload car. And do another swelling check.

{edit} And I don't do sub-ohm or extremely high watts.

That's probably it. Just let them out and they went to spot. No more interest after a few minutes. Both of the Doodles have gotten shocky from Copperhead bites and they've only had them on feet or lower legs. (I've carried them in house if it happens down the hill after they just barely made it up the hill.) They generally don't join in with the others when they discover snakes. Moe Doodle is paying a lot of attention to one paw but little to no swelling. He's probably trying to clean the wretched smell off if he stepped to close to the ruckus. Copperheads have the least musky smell of any snakes I've handled. My pet Kingsnake never musked me but did a doggie/pet sitter once. I can smell most snakes from a few feet away but not Copperheads.

Hope you enjoyed dinner Darrell.

Nite, nite.
