Once upon a time i dated a woman that had an exercise bike and she'd pedal like crazy for 5 miles a day. I walk all day long and i used to train with a racing cyclist who'd think nothing of 100 miles before lunch. So i was pretty handy.

I'd get on this bike of hers and pedal backwards to reset the odometer. I learned a lot of new swear words.

You motivated me to go get a couple of whole chickens to throw on the smoker. Gonna use pecan to smoke them.

Sounds great! I haven't smoked any meat since I moved up here. Maybe a chicken or two but I haven't invested in a true smoker because 1) the season is so short and 2) things tend to disappear around here. I may break down next year because I'm sure missing my pulled pork and all the other stuff I used to do.......

Hope they turn out well and I'm sure they will!

I have good friends in VA and compared to the Texas armpit i live in - it's a beautiful place. I went there first in about 1995 and so if you need to blame someone for me moving here, blame them.

The woman there i call my sister is one of the best cooks i have ever seen, and if you have not had a pork loin smothered in marmalade, your life is incomplete. She's a southerner and talks, to my hearing anyway, like Dolly Parton!

Y'all are my kind of people with all this talk of grilled food.

Just sold something else in the Classifieds. Gotta build up my Woodville fund.

Going to VA tomorrow on business. Come back Wednesday.

Northern VA is my old stompin' grounds, last duty station for my dad was DC, went to HS there, married there, still have a few good friends there, but...

Darn happy we decided to make the move to San Antonio in 1990, do miss a few things, but I do luv it here :)

The Western portion of VA in the mountaIns is absolutely stunning for sure, one of the things do I miss...

Nothin' but one big city all the way past Winchester now, I'd be totally lost tryin' to recognize anything from when I lived there...

Yep, that's exactly how I feel. Grew up in NoVa, went to high school there, knew all the back roads every where. (Tyson's Corner Area way before they had a mall). Went back for the first time 15 years ago and couldn't find my way anywhere. They moved the damn roads! Been back a few times since as my mom still lives there but I do my best to stay off the roads. Now down south to the west, different story....

I grew up in the Chantilly area, when we first moved there Route 50 was still a 2 lane road with farms still along it, Manassas was considered the boonies and Dullas Airport was out in the middle of nowhere...

Yup things change...
