I accidentally fell asleep on the couch watching tv (trying to stay up until DH can take over watching the rain) and saw it was time for DH to get up for work. I jumped up, ran to the kitchen and made coffee. About the time it started brewing I realized it was Saturday

Lake Garland has receded and canal street is only flowing along the gutters. Hopefully we don't get any more of that crazy sideways blowing 1" per hour downpour. It blew open our side gate and either the wind or the flood pushed our trashcans right on through. Unfortunately, trash pickup isn't until Monday so we had to drag them back in

Is it time to stalk the mailman yet?

Quick question I am having problems the first time with my Reo Grand. It is not firing properly. I have filed the pin and used Noalox. I am thinking the pin is not making enough contact with the nipple on the battery. When I push he button and the pin comes down it is just barely coming down below the black casing. I know most of the pins have the slight V shape and this is almost flat. Wondering if it has been filed down way to much. I messaged Rob and he told me he thinks it is not cleaned well enough and of course he would be happy to look at it but hate to bother him. I know he is going to be swamped shipping all you fine folks out there woods. Has anyone had to replace the pin because it has been filed down to much?

Do you have a button cover on the button? Mine was down a bit too far so it wasn't pushing the pin far enough. I removed it and reapplied it and all is fine again. Or maybe it was just manipulating the thing, either way it worked.

If you are using a button cover make sure it is not pushed down too far on the button. That will make the button not push enough on the contact strip.

Remove the button cover and put a little piece of paper or dental floss up in it before putting it back on.

Now I feel really good about writing what I did! If Karen agrees, it must be so.

It took me 2 days of my poor REO misfiring to figure that button cover thing out

The tornado alert in my area has been lifted. It is the calm before the 2nd half of the storm and DH is awake so I can officially go to sleep

Have a great day everyone, stay safe and warm!

ETA: DEN, did they lift it near you? They had funnel clouds 20 miles NW of Sacramento right along the 5...

Karen, did you get any sleep at all?

I managed to sneak in a few hours. Apparently my sentry duty worthiness is nil.

I don't know how much I slept. I went to bed I think three times! Each time I laid there with my mind still going. I am guessing I slept a little then woke up.

I am tired and my brain feels numb!! Trying to stay up for awhile and hopefully get some more sleep a little later.

I just don't know!

Good morning Reoville!

I feel about like you do Karen...my body and brain are numb! I tossed and turned all night, getting up to check my Paypal, see if i got any emails from Rob, etc., looking at the mods I think i scored.
I need about three days to recuperate!Even as I'm typing, visions of the curly oak and cocobolo are filling my head. I've never owned a brand new wood before.Nor dreamed I'd be quick enough to get even one, never mind three. But the third one was a mistake cuz i thought i'd missed the second one:facepalm:
And they're all pure wood so I get to lovingly stroke them with Howards!

NOW I understand the excitement of Woodvil sale night!

More coffee...I need more coffee.....

thanks to Curbotad's input last night, I took a pic on my phone then downloaded it for this avatar. It doesn't begin to show the glory of this wood tho.

Next I'll try to do the curly oak, after I've recuperated...in about a week:D

I just checked my mailbox, nothing :( I'll check again in an hour.

Thank You Val but I feel bad that I have two doors when others have only one so like I stated when the opportunity arises I will pass on the door to another REOnaut in need. I think I might surprise the wife with her own REO mini for my birthday (weird right?) plus it will give me a chance to order the upgraded contacts and grab a RM2.

Keep the door for variety!

i click on the View thingie. no pics.

Lies! No need to hide them from us, we all got some last night (did that sound bad?)

Did you see the post on how to check your orders on reosmods? You can feel a little better when you see your order there.
