my newby sense (spidey sense wannabe) tells me that that link is for ceramic wick, which i believe is different than ecowool. no real clue why or how it's different, but the ceramic is more expensive. i would bother to search it, but....

Evening, Reoville!

You are correct sir. And the READYxWICK is more expensive.. but SO worth it! It's like the Mazerati of wicks!

I haven't..all I taste is the flavor of my juice. Maybe someone else will pop in with an explanation for you.

i've used XC-132 which is the same as the 2mm ReadyStuff, i believe. all i taste is juice. even unflavored.

then again, after months of using cotton, i still have no clue what cotton actually tastes like...

Does anyone else get a funny taste when you use a new piece of ReadyXWick?

With a new build I get a slight hint of something different for about 30 minutes if I do not dry burn for a few minutes initially. I am not sure if it the wick or the coil. I just re-wicked all mine that were a month old not because they needed it but because I wanted to try a different coil.

Good Evening Reonauts!

Darrell, the Mowhawk on the side...what I picture in my mind is to funny for words.

TylerD Welcome to Reoville!!

Nope...won't do it...the electrical tape is staying on the "eye" of my computer! I am proud of you OldBroad, I might get a camera for my desk computer, but the tape stays on the laptop!!

Laurin, that mayo looks great, the salad even better.

If anyone is interested I have 23.5" of the 3mm ReadyXwick, I like the 2mm, the 3mm is just sitting here, I'd be happy to divide it up between 2 or three people. Free for the asking, send me a PM.

Edit: ReadyXwick given away to three Reonauts

What I've been doing is after I build a new coil with ready-wick I drip some juice and saturate the wick and then fire it a few times. I do this 2 or three times. Then I put the cap and drip tip on and it's pretty much ready to go. If I remember correctly I believe I read this tip on the ready-wick site. This made a big difference for me when installing a new wick.

Since I've got my coils where I wanted them I haven't built any new coils for a couple of weeks. I just dry burn when they're dirty and they're good to go again. For me between cotton, silica, and ready-wick, ready-wick was the only one that didn't give me any kind of taste to my wick/coils. I don't think I'll be able to use anything else.

Thanks. That sounds exactly like what I've been doing, but I get a "strange" taste that lasts for maybe an hour or so. There's no problem on the second and subsequent tanks. Only the first time with a new piece.

I always torch my ekowool until it glows white. It makes sure of no taste :) and it makes it easier to work with.

Stay safe, thats odd you did not feel it. Must be the porcupine dust :D

Seems like some areas felt it good others didn't. Over on the mainland seems high rises shook good but not the low buildings. It could be the land here too. I'd imagine it depends on what's under you as to how much you feel it.

well, maybe you'll get "lucky" with the shakers. in '89, i lived about 30-40 miles from the epicenter of the Loma Prieta quake-- the one that took out the World Series. i was trying to get the kids out of the house and it knocked me off my feet. when i got up, i saw waves in my swimming pool you could surf on. fun stuff.

i don't understand how people can live with tornados, hurricanes, ungodly snow or the scary weather. quakes are just a walk (or skid) in the park.
