Hi All!

I have some questions for REOville - here is a bit of back story:

I have a few mods...REOs (of course), Billet Boxes and Provaris. They are all work horses and while none of them are inexpensive, I rarely worry about a malfunction or breakage of any kind. I am a sucker for good design and feel these mods have all been good investments.

But, I am always impressed with how simple the REOs are to use. There is very little to fiddle with and as a frequent airline traveler, they are fantastic! I can keep a bottle half full, pop in a battery when I land and off, I go. Big plus to me!

Yet, I do sometimes like variety and admit to being tempted by bright, new, shiny objects - hence some of the other mods in my collection. At the same time, however, I love simplicity in my life and am a complete minimalist by nature.

Now, finally...my questions - How many of you have found yourself in a similar situation and do you now vape only REOs? How was the transition? Any recommendations or input for trying to go just the REO route? If you have other mods, what purpose do they serve?

Thanks, gang and my apologies for the long post!

I was a provape fan for a long time (and still am). I always wanted a REO but at the time, they didn't suit my vaping style ( I was all into genesis attys) when Rob came out with bf rebuildable attys I bought a REO and now have 7. I do use other mods.. a cuboid, istick pico, tesla mini, provari radius along with several kayfuns and R91%s but my REOs are my favorites. I just can't get the flavor from the other combos that I get with my REOs and RM2s.

When the regulations were announced, I lost all interest in buying anything else with electronics and decided that REOs would be my vapocalypse devices. I've bought 3 out of the classies in the last month (I snatched up that sl/lp hammertone with black wrinkle door last night!

Wow! From smoking stinkies to 0mg vaping, how bout that!!! I stopped dipping about 2 cans of snuff a day and switched to 18mg vaping and now I'm down to 3mg!! Glad to see that this thing is working for other people and they are loving it as much as I do!!!!
Whats the lowest that you guys build on a reo? I have like a .3 build right now and its RIPPING haha. Just wanna throw a quad coil in my velocity and see what it does, but dont wanna blow the thing up.

Well ya sure won't blow the Reo up anyway. :p

At 0.3 you are getting close to the low limit for a Reo. But it's not an exact science either - vape style comes into play.

Your safety limit in a Reo is that hot spring under the battery negative. Of course it's gonna pancake and break the connection if you do a bad and dead short something. The spring can also sag - not fully pancake - if you are getting close to it's current limits. A .3 build will be fine for most people with the new (gold) spring & contacts and a few drop into the .15 range even. But if you are gonna try and chain vape or do really extended hits at .3 and lower you might sag the spring. That's how it works. Like I said - vape style comes into play.

If you sag the spring enough to break the connection go get a new one. Don't stretch out and reuse the spring - the metal it's made of will only sag or collapse so far, for so many times.

So your Reo is safe and can keep you safe. Bigger concern with sub ohm into those ranges is making sure your battery of choice is up to the amp limit you want to pull out of it.

You know I refer to you as my personal REO Yoda, right? So glad you took the time to reply!

May I ask what changes you made? I have had great luck with taking your suggestions. Good to see you, too!

K.
I'll send you a pm in a bit...

Yeah, consider yourself lucky. Apparently from what I've seen on the various Reddit threads the guy made an account, did a bunch of sells/purchases from a ton of people in a couple days, and then deleted his account so I doubt that guy is the only one that got burned just the first to find out about it. The same guy apparently created a new account today and tried to scam some more people. Hopefully that guy wins the dispute and gets the money he is entitled to.

Its honestly disgusting to treat other people like that. As vapers we are supposed to be in this together. With everything going on around us we need to have each others backs instead of stabbing them in it.

Fortunately it looks like the guy has a ton of evidence to back up what happened and is going to file criminal and civil charges against them.

Hopefully this will teach this young buck a very valuable lesson about the consequences of your actions.

So I ordered a Metallic Blue LP/SL Grand as a birthday present to myself (June 14th). And so my Metallic Red LP/SL won't feel lonely. Along with the mod, I ordered a Stainless Steel RM8, and aluminum button cover, and I added a standard brass RM2 for the VV Woodvil currently crossing the Atlantic. Everything was fine except for the stainless RM8. The female connection looked like it had been dropped, as the end was oblong and the first couple of threads were cracked. I tried installing on several of my mods, but the connector end of the RBA was buggered up too bad.
So I call Rob. He says that another stainless RM8 is on it's way, don't bother returning the old one. No questions asked, just sending a replacement.
That is the kind of customer service that separates Rob from all of the others.

The lives Rob and his team have saved or bought others some more trips around the sun by signing off on every one of his products instead of us sucking down on coffin nails have earned them major karma points in my book.

Well put, papaw and have a great Thursday along with the rest of REOville.

Man, I was tempted on that [classifieds post] from Floridagolferboi. Good thing I didnt bite. I am sure glad we have such a tight community that when a wolf shows up in sheeps clothes, we skin the wolf! Never figured out why people scam others- especially on a site like this. Think your never gonna get caught? Think anyones gonna be happy with you? Think you will end up ahead? Think again. Karma is a :censored:!
This serves as a reminder to use PayPal Goods and Services. Ive been bitten by a scammer on one of my first transactions on here and hate seeing it happen to anyone. Hasn't happened since that once, but always trust your gut feeling.
