It's official!

My batteries are still in the mail. As was predicted, I do have a couple questions.

Where is this o-ring supposed to go? It came with the atomizer.
image.jpeg

The o-ring will not stay on the bottom of the atomizer (notice the gap/indentation). It seems this indentation is there for a reason, not sure what though.
image.jpeg

Gap on this one too? Is this normal? Is there something that needs adjusted?
image.jpeg

Last question, for now! This piece of string was in the plastic bag with the atomizer, what is it for? Free gift?? LOL

Does anyone the life span of a RM2? Inquiring minds want to know!

It really depends on your Hoople-quotient I think.

A few people have got one of the posts to spin 'round. (So quit using the power drill on post screws already!) And dropping the ceramic onto a tile floor during a full tear down would be a bad. Stuff like that. Really isn't much that can go wrong here.

String can be used to ensure button cap is TIGHT on the button "stub".
O-ring can be placed under the atty - to give you some "flex" for aiming the airholes where you want them. Not critical...but handy sometimes.
The 510 is adjustable to reduce/eliminate that gap under the larger atty.
There's a little wrench that fits into a the PIN INSIDE the 510 - yep, right in the middle. And it turns BACKWARDS. In other words, to LOWER that big atty,
a) take it off
b) use the little wrench on the pin inside the 510, and turn it COUNTER-clockwise
c) The pin will do the opposite of what a screw would - it will LOWER. For a gap like that, maybe 3/4 of a turn...
You might want to find a setting for which BOTH attys make a connection, and maybe use the O-Ring in that gap - sort of a "compromise" setting, so you don't have to adjust all the time...

HAVE FUN!!!

Lori! If you have three for one REO and I have three for four REOs I am in trouble! I guess I do need more!
As for delayed delivery I feel your pain! I got some MHM tips from the classies and they are missing in action! Last know location was on July 1st! They went to the wrong zip code and are now lost
Did you add that later, otherwise...I totally missed it earlier. :( That just STINKS!! Have they given up on finding it??

I asked at my post office this morning why mine went to CA, and then NC.
She said that there is no reasonable explanation for it going either place, that the machines must be reading something in error, and that as long as it's still getting scanned, that's a good thing.
She said it will eventually get "spit out" and a human will have to read it and it will either go back to the sender, or to me. :)
But, it's insured, so no worries.

An emphatic yes! I just bought 4 more...deeming ya know..and covering yourself in case of some mishap with them.
BACKUPS FOR BACKUPS. I ordered two more today...(and 3 doors, seems I now have a door fettish ) :D
I stopped short of a second mod.
I still haven't convinced myself that I truly need more than one.
One mod, and all the extra parts that I have should last a lifetime...now we'll see if the "wantsies" side of it ends up getting the best of me.

Looks like I'm going shopping again! I need more RM2s!!!!!!!
Yep, prob under 55 of them left now.

RM2s...so easy to build and oh so flavorful.
AMEN to that!!!

I googled "hoople", my pic didn't come up, so I'm hopefully good there. :D
But I'm a screw overtightener, I fear. I'll try to back off of that.

Dropping stuff is my biggest fear.

What Train said.

Lay the floss across the top of the button and push the button cover in place. Trim off the excess as best you can. It makes for getting a tight button cover fit. DO NOT glue your button cover on - you may need to remove it at some point in time.

You are trying to position your atty with the air hole pointing up when you draw on the Reo. If the air hole is pointing down - typically toward the fire button - you might get a leak out the air hole when you tip it. For dual air hole attys you are shooting for the air holes being "side to side" - like at a right angle to the button. Putting the o-ring between the atty & 510 connector can help you tweak that positioning some times.

The rule of the adjustable 510 is: bass ackwards. Turn left to lower, right to raise.

It's really simple stuff and simple tweaks.

Door Fetish! It was bound to happen! That is what I love about my black REO and white REO! I can dress it up with a new door for almost every season! Orange door on my black wrinkle is perfect for Halloween!
...well, I've got it for sure.
Poor Rob, he HAS to think I'm insane. I've placed an order each week for the last 4 weeks.
I keep finding things I "need".

Oh - and "string under button cover" is "as-needed".
I popped my button cover on the day I got my Reo, without a string. And it's been snug there ever since.
That's like 2 years, and 20 drops, and the button cover is secure...so, it's just there in case your button cover seemed to go on "too easily" - if you had to push hard, you're fine without.

So if I swore trying to get mine on, and it won't budge a fraction of a millimeter, I should be good too, right?

AND, I found the "other things on FT thread" today!!! WHAT A HOOT!!

No kidding!!

Thank you all for the support! I'll mess around a bit more with the o-ring. The 510 screw is down as far as it will go.

OMGoodness, the string! Who would have thought.

Can't wait for my batteries to show up! :D
You are going to LOVE it!! :D

Lost/misplaced the white mouthpiece that goes on my Origen Little 16. REO Grand is feeling neglected. Anyone know where I can get the mouthpiece or one that fits?
Muzik may already have you covered, but FYI I have 3 origen littles, and the only one that uses the included white tip is a white reo mini. Any regular 510 tip I've tried has worked.
I wish I could say the same for the low pro atty...so if anyone has any ideas on a tip for that one, let me know!

So, I'm the only one that once a month I take the delrin off and put the REOs in a hot bath? I can't stand the thought of having eliquid under that delrin just sitting there getting nasty. If you have bought a use REO - you never know if someone else ever cleaned it out or not...and trust me - until you see one with 2 years worth of gross...eewww can't talk about it.

I rinse them a few time a week but I do dry them/leave the over night on a towel to air dry. Glad I haven't bought a P67 yet then.

No, ma'am you're not. I failed to read the entire p67 thread, and washed the second p67 I bought. the insert swelled up after getting wet . it was just enough to make the door not "snick" properly. So after sanding it down a tad I'm anxiously awaiting the ultem inserts....

Rob should be receiving my 4 LP Grands tomorrow for the SS 510 conversion and complete refurbish. I also requested 4 more RM2's and another .... load of extra parts. So with 6 LP Grands, 10 RM2's, and a ton of repair parts, I should good for a half century at least. I'll probably be long gone before then(unless I live to be 104).

I must have the saddest 510 tips ever. So far they're all wobbly. I'll find something. I may just buy & alter the tip muzichead linked.

Depends on abuse. I've had sever fall apart at the base and stripped the 510 threads off a couple more. They aren't indestructible but if looked after should last many years.
