Hi all. I don't have a Reo mod but I was referred to this thread when I posted a question about ReadyxWick in the Wick forum.

I used RxW for the first time today and it's been a positive experience so far. I have one question though. How do I determine when the old flavor has been completely removed from RxW when dry burning? I attempted to do this earlier and I ended up getting black stuff on the wick. It was probably from the coil. The RxW was still moist but there was no more vapor produced while dry burning.
In over 2yrs, I never had to stick anything through my wicking to do anything special. I wrapped a 2.5mm coil and threaded the RxW through the coil. If you can just push the RxW through your coil, the coil is too large of I.D. for your RxW. Never had any problems with wicking, drying out prematurely, or dry burning. My wicks lasted at minimum of 6 mos on average...

You need to just pulse the coil to dry burn the RxW. This is in very short 1-3 second bursts. You should never over pulse. As soon as the coil starts to glow, release the button, let the coil cool slightly and then repeat. Do this until the RxW has turned white. If it turns black, you burned it and it is now no good...

Thanks for the help muzichead. 6 months! I'd love to get my wicks to last that long. Even 2 months would be great. What wattage should I use when pulsing? I was using 13 watts and it took more than 3 seconds for the coil to glow.

I don't use RXW but everyone in this forum uses mechs, so...

Just pulse. Low wattage is probably preferable.

i use the 3mm RxW and i'll either pulse it on a regulated device at suicide wattage or sometimes if i'm making a new coil, i'll stick the wick on a pin and blowtorch it back to white.

My wife and i both get 6 months from a wick a coil setup. Mine is 26/32 Clapton wrapped on a 3mm screwdriver and for HRH i make a 2mm 27g 8wrap coil and use the 2mm RxW. The smaller stuff will not take a blowtorch too well! It err disintegrates with enthusiastic torching.

For installation i've always found that cutting the wick at a 45° angle and screwing it in the coil works great. Let's be honest, wick that costs a $ an inch, you don't want to waste.

I have never owned a regulated device so I can't really answer that question exactly, but I will let you know that if you watch your coil as you are cleaning it, just as it starts to fully glow, that is when you let off the firing button and wait a moment to cool a little. Then repeat as I stated above until it is clean and the RxW is white again. Please note though that the RxW will never clean to the same whiteness as it is when you install it, but it will get close.

The secret for me in getting my RxW to last that long was to clean my coil or coils on a regular basis and never let them gunk up before having to clean. Depending on your nic level will dictate how often you dry burn also. When I was vaping 3-6mg it was once a week, 6-12 was every 5 days, 12+ was every 3 days. When I went to 0 nic I only had to clean maybe once every 2 weeks.

Good Morning Reonauts ! A cool weekend on tap here in the Carolinas.
Can't help with wicks, I'm still on Japanese cotton. Bu then again, I am vaping at about 11 watts. No need for high temperature equipment here !

Have a Safe and Blessed Day :)
I thought that was done and over with back in 2012?

It was quick. I went to the mini mart and a guy in the parking lot started talking to me. He was gassing up his snowmobile and offered me a ride. Just went in a circle in a big field. Now i want a snowmobile... :D

Cross Country skiing is a lot cheaper though.
And I STILL haven't tried that,
I may go rent some skis on Tuesday. I actually think there are free rentals on Tuesdays, and I'm off, and we have over 2 feet of fluffy white stuff, so...

Don't need any snow tires with one of those!!

After a while you can kinda get bored with them cause its only winter for so many months of the year. When summertime comes you just outfit it like these and have even more fun. My BIL left his like this year round cause it just wasn't as fun in the snow anymore...
