I bought a couple of the ss bottles from Rob. Is there a trick to getting them to squonk? There seems to be an air leak.
You need to seat the threads when they are new.
Pinch the tube & squeeze the (empty) bottle.

HRH and i moved house last year and i threw away a load of clothes @Papa_Lazarou.

But best of all was an entertaining legal situation i had with my ex-apartment managing company as they tried to screw me for being a smoker and claiming cleaning costs, in particular an ozone cleaner!

They went after my credit record and all that guff (hey, i have the house and the car, so i don't give a stuff!) until i wrote this - at which point they said there had been an error and everything was paid. Here's an excerpt -

"However, the most disturbing part of the alleged bill is a charge for $280.00 for 'Ozone machine use for cigarette smell'. This fictitious charge is only $20 different from your total demanded and so the major issue here.

There's no indication how this charge was arrived at and my own research indicates that one can buy such a machine for less money than this and rent one for 7 days for under $99.

You'll notice that there is no insinuation that my wife and I left the apartment in disrepair or dirty and in fact we went to great lengths to leave it clean and presentable. To my knowledge the only smoker in the block was the elderly lady that lived above us.

If you had a copy of the lease from back in 2007 when I moved in, you would see that at that time I was indeed a smoker and it was rented to me as such. What [name of ........s] never realised is that my wife and I both stopped smoking in 2012! Else they would never have tried such a ruse.

So, I put it to you very simply, that if you think you can walk into a house where nobody has smoked for 4 years and detect a cigarette smell that requires the use of the most expensive type of machine of its kind ever made, then I urge you to tell it to a judge.

Going to Mexico, Cancun, for a month in March. Never been before when I vaped and have a question. If Mexican customs will be concerned about my ejuice. I plan on bringing 1 litre with 500 ml in it and 2 smaller plastic bottles with 100 ml in each. I was told never to fill the bottles up. I am also going to make up a small tool box and cotton/coil, pre-made. Just want to be prepared. Any advise would be appreciated.

I'm fairly new to them myself. I'm converting all my REOs to them. They just take a few minutes to prep, is all, before first use. After installing the tube in the cap, just pull an inch or so out of the top of the cap. You'll be trimming it off later. Screw the cap onto the bottle, tight. Be careful not to cross thread the cap. Once it's on tight, Pinch the tube with your fingers. While pinching the tube, begin squeezing the bottle, to pressurize it. Squeeze hard, several times. Eventually, you will feel pressure, as you squeeze. When you notice this pressure, the cap and bottle have seated to each other. Generally, what I do, for the last step, is release my finger pressure on the tube, and squeeze the bottle again, so it is collapsed. While the bottle is collapsed, Pinch the tube again, tight. If the bottle stays collapsed, while you're pinching the tube, your bottle and cap is well seated.
The tricky part is getting the tube on the nipple in the REO the first time. It fits pretty snug. I put a couple drops of VG on a toothpick, and put a little inside the end of the tube that's going on the REO nipple.
Once you have the tube installed in the REO, trim off the bottom end to fit. Don't forget to cut the bottom of the tube, that goes in the bottle, at a slant.

That sounded like a lot of juice to bring, but I guess it's only a budget of ~10ml/day for two people. Knowing you, I'm sure you've built contingency into that, as well.

I've had mates travel to Mexico many times with no issues - just mind the protocols for batteries, liquid container sizes in carry-ons, etc.

The issue you might face is the volume of juice you're bringing. Apparently, Mexico has no issues with personal consumption, but they might think that with this amount, you're selling.

Personally, I'd break the big bottle down into smaller bottles and stow them in a shaving kit or makeup bag - less obvious a target of interest. Ideally, I'd split them up between two or more bags and I'd even drop them off to be loaded at different times if I could.

I assume that the smaller bottles are for carry-on transport. I'd go for 400ml in 4 bottles, 2 each on your baggies (with other bottles so they're not so obvious). This would be a hedge in case the big stash was lost for any reason.

Now, that would maybe mask your supply, but you've been before, so you know about the red button roulette. Hit it wrong, and you'll have your bags inspected manually. Whole different story as it's up to the discretion of the officer. Be truthful (of course) and you still should not have any trouble as it's not illegal to have it, buuuut the personal use over/under might be a question.

Lucky you, BTW. We'll be fully greened up by the time you return.

Oh, I don't know - REO, chalice... feels like quite a string of good fortune.

You'll love the cyclone - a great staple in any squonk arsenal.

Not that I'm an enabler (quiet, you rabble), let us know if you're in the market for some other good MTL atties and we'll rock your world.

Yeah I was lucky with those as well. I'm excited and I'm always interested in more haha. Sometimes I find I'm only interested in what's hard to get:lol:

Heh - slippery slope, my friend. Slippery. Slope.

Time was, a chalice was a unicorn atty. The latest version came out and changed that. If you've a taste for the more exotic, it can get cray cray. An authentic M-Atty was selling for $900 at one point.

:eek: I couldn't bring myself to spend that much for one atty. my god..

Yep - it's nuts. That atty (like most that get priced above what's perceived as fair market value) was cloned. (Relatively) widely available at about $45.

If you're interested in a little light research while you puff on your reo and wait for the cyclone to arrive, you might want to look at some more reasonable good MTL atties, such as...

* O-16 (super little atty)
* Divo
* Graal (love this one)
* NoFear
* Viper (another goodie)

There are others. These all have devoted fan followings.

I've been interested in an 0-16 and have heard of the divo also vicious ant? I will check those out! I feel like an o-16might be my next quest

The O-16 is a great atty! I have 3 of them. They perform and look great on LP Grands. The authentic is a bit pricey though. There are a couple clones, but I can't say anything about the quality of them. My O-16s are all authentics.

What's the benefit of using the metal top reo bottles vs plastic?

They hold a little more. They are listed as 8.5ml, but although I've never measured it, they don't hold quite that much. Maybe 7.5 or 8, with space at the top.
Squonking is much easier than the stock 6ml bottles.
