What Happened To Safe Cig?

"The writer has a more complicated guess. A pharmaceuticals company might be looking for a way to break into the electronic cigarette market on the cessation side of the market. A company like Pfizer or Glaxosmithkline has the money to do clinical trials and research into the damage of their products and sell them as the safest option on the market. The Safe Cig could be the perfect brand for such an endeavor. If this is the case, the products and employees of the company don’t matter at all compared to simply owning the brand."

Making the company disappear doesn't make sense if you're trying to cash in on an existing brand...

I'm sure if BP jumps in the game ... They've done their homework

Kinda funny ...
If BP jumps into the game ... The FDA will
trip over their own feet in a rush to approve
BP's products. Of course, the FDA would
immediately remove all negative e-cig propaganda
from their website.
:p

Funny ...
If BP were to get into the game ...
they would want to claim e-cigarettes are smoking cessation devices
and insist smoking is a term only to be used for burning/inhaling tobacco.

If you read the comments on the article, there are tons of complaints about Safe Cig charging credit cards and not sending product.

In the year prior to the Safe Cig closing, there were a lot of complaints about their 'free trial' program resulting in unauthorized credit card charges. CASAA even received very negative e-mails because Safe Cig had a CASAA banner on their site, and certain people took that as an endorsement by CASAA.

Wasn't this the company that the movie director's brother was involved in?

You're correct. John Cameron, brother of James Cameron, is the CEO of Safe Cig. Here is the announcement of the merger between his company and the Seminole Tribe of Florida, owners of Seminole Unconquered... Edit; the forum won't allow the link, but if you Google "Seminole and Safe Cig" the announcement is the 4th result.

Poor customer service will certainly lead to the demise of just about any company. The BBB blurb in the article said that they had over 100 claims on Safe-Cig in the last 12 months, 84 of which were settled. You have to wonder how many other vapers were told about personal situations. As they say, a satisfied customer will tell 2 or 3 people and an unsatisfied customer will rant about their experience to 8 or 10. Word gets around.

Could this just be moving to safer ground, out of the Federal grasp?
Is the Seminole e-cigar/e-cigarette company
on the Seminole Indian reservation ??

If so ... That might raise some Treaty issues
Maybe not ... However, if it does ... Would love
to see the Seminole nation consider Federal interference
on their reservation an act of War ... Similar to when
the State of NY decided to push an Indian Nation around
sometime ago.

As long as the grass grows and the rivers flow
this land will be yours ... Yeah, Right !!

Disclaimer: I really don't know the current PC term for Indian
Maybe its Native American ??
I hate Political Correctness !!!

The terms Native American and American Indian are for the most part interchangeable and equally acceptable, though a few have a distinct preference for one or the other. Some would prefer that you use their specific tribe if you know it, as in "John Doe of the Seminole tribe".

I believe that Native Americans reserved the right to grow and sell tobacco within the treaties, thus the origin of American Spirit, Seneca etc, as well as the reason that so many Native American casinos include a smoke shop somewhere on the property. Also, the FSPTCA gave the FDA the right to govern even reservation produced or sold cigarettes, while the PACT Act included the Native American tobacco retailers in the mail ban. I'm guessing then that the partnership between Seminole Unconquered won't work to get them around any deeming regulation passed, though they might have hoped it would.
