Hello all! I am impatiently waiting for my E-cig to come in the mail. I ordered it what seemed like forever ago (less than a week)! I guess I should have shopped around a little more thoroughly because I found out my E-cig is coming from China!! I figured shipping was so costly because it was overnight or something, but nope... it is OVERSEAS!!! Anyone hear of the "E-Cig"??

So here is my story... I quit smoking on Jan 3rd of this new year. Why the third? Because that was when I ran out of cigs (I hate the pressure of being done at midnight on New Years). I smoked for 23 years but was never really a heavy smoker. My average was 6 cigs a day... but those 6 cigs meant the world to me. I have quit several times before, but failing after a couple of weeks. I am hoping that this E-cig keeps my hands/mouth busy?? I guess I am wondering how well these will satisfy my oral fixation habit?

I am pretty sure that by now the nicotine is completely out of my body, so I did not order the nicotine cartridges. I ordered tabacco and menthol flavors without the nicotine.

Any comments from people using ecigs would be great! I feel like if I just felt that satisfaction of holding, inhaling, and exhaling, I will feel there is no longer a void. As of right now, I keep eating sunflower seeds and mints.... uuugh... tired of it already, lol. My E-cig can't get hear quick enough!! :(

Thanks all!!

Welcome Aboard!

While waiting for you new e-cig to arrive the very best thing you can do for yourself is pour a cold or hot beverage of your choice, get comfortable in front of your computer and read, read and read some more. Use the search feature too to find the answers to so many questions that we've all had and continue to have here at ECF.

Even though I've been enjoying vaping for more than 2 months I still find myself on here reading and posting and asking questions and even helping others many hours throughout the day. You can never know too much.

One important thing to realize is that you'll never get the exact same satisfaction from an e-cig as you do from a regular cigarette, but I actually found it better. You have to train your brain to accept your e-cig as your new analog (regular cigarette).

Anyhow, good luck and just give it a good honest effort and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!

I totally agree!

Congrats on quitting!!

Since you've already kicked the nicotine out of your body I think 0mg is a good choice. For me, the psychological part of smoking has just as much, if not more, hold on me than anything else. I find it completely satisfies the "oral fixation".

This forum has been a tremendous resource and I spend a lot of my free time reading and learning. There's just SO much information here. The people are great as well, and someone is always here to answer questions or ... just offer support and encouragement.

hrrrm.... now *I* want some sunflower seeds!

Good to have you aboard Chazzy!

I recieved my 1st e-cig (the Joy 510), on Jan. 4th, and have been analog free ever since. After trying everything from patches/gum to Aeros smokeless cigs, I was very hesitant that these things would work. Like you I was looking for that "inhale, exhale" type of feeling. All I can say is, these things are absolutely amazing! Like many others on here..I was instantly hooked. As Nunja suggested read up on Don DaBoom's guide, well worth the read. Best of Luck:)

Welcome to ECF and to vaping, chazzystar!

Hope you'll revisit this thread to share with us your first impressions of the e-cig you ordered – including what model it is (we're all really fascinated by the different models and the suppliers who carry them).

Although I very much appreciate Nunja Business' and Hawk52501's recommendations of my WWV Illustrated Guide, please don't feel that it is a prerequisite for asking questions or making comments! For one thing, that sucker is long. Browse through it: skip portions in which you have no current interest, explore relevant links, watch intriguing videos. You can always come back to it later (if you want to). It ain't goin nowhere (although I do intend to update and improve it).

Enjoy your vaping adventure, chazzystar!
