So far I have gained a ton of info here, and I am quickly narrowing down my ideal setup. Currently my setup includes several 501 batteries and atomizers that mimic the analogs for on the go, and two Riva batteries for my car and desk. I am using the 501 tank cartridges, which are reasonably easy to refill and use.
Settling on a flavor is a challenge, and all I've really learned is that I need a real nicotine throat hit. I have now tried five of the most popular tobacco imitators from backwoods brew, and I think i am done with fake tobacco. The backwoods backo, the 555, the Virginia, the hunters blend, and the honey flue are all weird and only slightly different to me. I keep confusing them also. I put some in tank carts and some in traditional carts and that's not helping.
This all started with me going to a wedding. I was gonna have to hang out and party for four days straight in hotel rooms and non smoking bars etc. My coworker suggested I try an ecig instead of the patch, which is what i usually do for these situations. I went to my local head shop (......... pipes, tattoos, and other randomness). They carried one type of ecig, called an Njoy. The cartridges they sold with it were essentially five bucks a piece, and no matter what they claim, they only lasted about half a packs worth rather than a full one.
I bought like thirty for the weekend, and went through at least fifteen of em. I let them dry out alot, and also replaced one the moment I felt it getting even slightly weak. Despite all this, I really love the flavor, and it truly hits me like a real cig. I have gotten used to smoking it, but a quick search showed that you really can't buy their juice in bulk at all. Even if I could get the carts at like 10cents a pop, I would still hate tossing all those empties out, not to mention the stupid medicine bottles they come in.
The Njoy is some weird kind of format, fatter than the 501 joye I have been trying to use. The atomizer is also strange. Dissecting a cartridge reveals that the heating element or whatever is suspended in the middle of some wadding soaked in e juice. The actual juice is semi sweet I guess. This whole journey of tasting all the fake tobacco flavors (and continual smoking of analogues alongside) has really raised some questions for me. The actual flavor of a cig is like nothing really. I have no reason to think i like tobacco flavor. Fresh tobacco is basically just an association with a nic fix. So now I have ordered a few different samplers of sweet and fruity juices. Hopefully I'll like them better than the tobacco subs.
