Since I can't yet post on other people's threads about this issue I made my own. When the eVic is connected to your computer and you try to transfer data the connection is not found. The error message that appears is "MVR has not found the hardware equipment". This can occur even after a successful first initialization and custom job of settings through the program.

What happens is the program does not have explicit permission to write data to your hard drive and access protected resources. Therefore it cannot find the device and function correctly. Being an IT professional, I have run into similar situations and knew of a way to get things going.

The Solution:
When you open the program, instead of double clicking the icon, right click the MVR icon and choose the option "Run as Administrator". MVR is then allowed to access the correct computer resources and functions as intended. I have not had one problem since I tried out that option.

**Not sure how to enable this function with OSX.

Right click on the MVR Icon and select [Properties], then click on the [Advance] button under the [Shortcut] tab. When the Advanced Properties window opens, you can check mark the [Run as administrator] option, click [OK] then [OK] again. This would save the settings for the MVR shortcut permanently. You won't need to right click and run as administrator any more.
