In a van ............down by the river
So have you all had the chance to these guys live? I know I'm probably messing up the search with chattiness. But I do feel like I really missed the boat on that whole experience.

Yes, and yes you did.

You know Jerry's been dead for quite some time, right? 1995

nope never have sen them, but have had a few makeshift Dead, festivals in the woods of Ocala, with my buddy hippie Bob, who's current claim to fame is not having to put shoes on for 17 days. he keeps track of such things, and if you would listen to him explain it you would believe it's the most important thing in the world

he never really made it home from woodstock, but he is the kindest soul i have ever meet

I got to see them live once, think I was 15, it was shortly before Jerry died and was an incredible experience. They played at an amphitheater here in St. Louis and the followers pretty much took over an entire park, I ended up camping out there with some friends and it was pretty insane. If I had been born quite a bit earlier I for sure would have followed the Dead

The Dead played the Ventura Fairgrounds a bunch in the 80's.

It was a zoo.

It was like Woodstock in Ventura, I'll always remember those times fondly.

Such a great portrait of a friend:). Important to know someone whose head is firmly in the clouds. And, yes, David...I was aware of Jerry Garcia's untimely demise:p! Thanks for humoring a bit of ruefulness and other bouts of nostalgia for a time of which I was never even part, much less the Unplugged STP-style high school flashbacks. When they wash over me like that, it's hard to keep them at bay:oops:.

...I'll bet that was great, too, Jerry. I do love Massachusetts something fierce!

I live only two miles from the Massachusetts border, Becky. Have you been to Massachusetts?
