Now before anyone says anything, I would like you to know that I did do some research on cleaning attys. To me it seems that everyone has a different experience with cleaning attys. Some have great success with hydrogen peroxide, some have their wicks desoldered.

I am starting to make my own juices and I know that with this comes the risk of burning out an atomizer. I am fine with that as they cost $7-10 although I would like to know the SAFEST way to clean an atomizer even if the safest isn't the most effective. (otherwise risking an atty to try to extend it's life seems silly)

There should also be something stickied, I see this as a common question. Sorry about that XD

Sattec has suggest 15 minutes in his latest revision. I usually leave mine in for 30 minutes and set it on an aquarium pump ( home made ultrasonic cleaner ). My attys come out clean and looking like new.

I have 6 atty in rotation and clean them about every 7-10 days. Have been using the same 6 for 45+ days now. No problems.

the safest way to clean them is...................don't.

blow them out once in a while, rinse them with plain-old PG even (it is a solvent you know), but don't fix something that's not broken.

ps. for those who don't know - most denture cleaners are not designed to be used with metal bridges or partials or any other type of metal.

Water-bath ultrasonic cleaner/dry burn/water-bath ultrasonic cleaner here. The second bath is to clear the burnt taste from the dry burn.

Also, depending on what you mix you may get longer life from your atomizers. When I was still using Chinese liquids, the dry burn gave off a lot of smoke and a lot of burnt flavor remained.

Mixing my own, my liquids are almost colorless and clear and the dry burn gives off only small amounts of smoke and burnt flavor. I believe that's because the clear liquids I use now have fewer ingredients that bake onto the heating coil. Less black gunk buildup could well mean longer atomizer life.

i stopped cleaning them, i have better luck just not doing it. every-time i clean it or blow it out.. it dies or dies shortly after. they last longer if i don't mess with em lol. if it starts to taste weird ill just buy a new one ha. maybe i just suck at it

the reason we blow or rinse the Atty's is because the atty's are basically shot, they aren't vaping right. Rather than throw them out, we extend the life by cleaning them, sometimes it works very well, sometimes it doesn't...

Per the linked thread above....

Crest PRO-Health Mouthwash---Alcohol FREE

I used this method last night and it worked GREAT.

If you read through , there was a lot of research done to come to his conclusion.

It seems to be the safest and easiest way to clean your atty's.

Mine was starting to lose draw and now is puffing like a champ!

Chiming in on the Crest - woo woo!!! 15 mins soak, dry and don't forget to prime.

Lots of good tips here. Thanks all. I've tried ;ots of them. One thing that worked for me is to flood the atty with pg, then acutally carefuly push a sewing needle between each turn of the coil to crack up the crut/gunk. Then blow out and dry burn. The cleaning prior to that I used a vodka soak. That worked, too. I guess it all depends on how far gone the atty is and what you have on hand, which probably should be some spare atty's so you do not ever have to go back to analogs. Happy vaping, my friends.
