Big Tobacco is watching and very worried that Vaping is the true tobacco killer that it appears to be

:glug:

The writing has been on the wall for years; not so much because of e-nic, but because smokers have become pariahs and people are quitting. They will all be in the game soon, with a plethora of cigalikes on the market next year.

I suggest if the FDA was going to announce their demon regulations
this month (which is almost over) ... we would have seen a lot in the news recently.
So ... I'm guessing we will have to wait, for who knows how long, to know what they will propose.

On the other hand ...
They might wait till Halloween ... Trick or Treat !!

Im pretty sure i can say this with it coming straight from my heart. Anything they do will not be for anyones benefit but their own. And i personally will do everything i possibly can for them to never make me one of their benefits. IE, my boot, my finger, and everything else is all they will get from me lol.

Fighting fair isnt winning against them anymore.

If the people that are trying to regulate and/or ban vaping were better informed about it, I'd be in favor of some regulation but as it is now, I'm totally against it because the regulations are unfounded. I don't want to have to vape in smoking areas. Smoking areas are smelly, dirty and I will smell like analog smoke. Vaping is very clean without the smoke smell and it won't get into your clothes.

We all need to ban together with our vaping stores and educate our politicians.

I hope you are right, but on the other hand, they may find this is the perfect time to implement restrictions while Congress is highly distracted by other issues and less likely to pay as much attention to the few vapers who will complain.

And based on what I am reading on ECF, there are more vapers who believe that vaping should be regulated and severely restricted. And then there is a larger group who either don't care or don't want to get involved. Those of us who know that vaping should be fought for are a small minority. My guess is that there are only 3 or 4 people who posted in this thread that are members of CASAA.

I don't understand why gapers would want vaping severely regulated. I'd like to be able to vape outside at the bus stop, outside on a restaurant patio, inside at work and so on. I can see regulating what gets used in making e-juice.

The question in my mind that always arises when talking banning vaping, What's next, another alcohol prohibition? Just try it and see what happens. For that matter, let's ban caffeine. How many would come out of the woodwork to fight that? So, let's not talk about why we don't want to ban vaping, let's get out there and do so ethical g about it.

Have you joined CASAA, yet? It is free to join although they need all the financial support we can give them. CASAA is "us", we who vape. Just click on the banner at the bottom of my post.

They don't have to regulate nicotine--they just have to regulate you. There's an old (pre-women) military NCO saying, "When you got 'em by the b@lls, their hearts and minds will follow." If nicotine testing becomes part of required general health profile lab work (like cholesterol, etc), and you can't get/retain employment or affordable health care because of your status in some database, whether nicotine is available, regulated or black market, won't matter. We won't be able to use that ten year hoard.

Thought on the financial end, for over a year after I joined I kept meaning to send something but never seemed to have it. One night I just started a small automatic monthly donation and it's been going for over a year now without hurting my pocket at all.

We are going to need a Million Nicotine Users March.

Or maybe I can just start vaping caffeine and HOPE that it has the same benefits as nicotine.
Or maybe after I get Alzheimers or Parkinsons my wife can sue them for damages.

Of course, if you have a prescription for one of Big Pharma's new nicotine drugs, you will be excused from all anti-nicotine requirements.

Or not
Beaumont, Henry Ford to implement no-nicotine hiring policy Jan. 1 [WITH VIDEO]

I don't think their concern will be to differentiate between the sources of nicotine. Lumping us all together has been working so far.

No, I'm not talking about patches, gums, and lozenges.
Although I can see them eventually making exceptions for those once Big Pharma OWNS "proper" nicotine delivery.

But what I'm thinking of is new nicotine-based drugs that I think we may see in the future...
--for treating and/or preventing Alzheimers
--for treating and/or preventing Parkinsons
--for treating ulcerative colitis
--for treating ADHD
--for treating Tourette's Syndrome

I think there may be a few I'm missing.

Call me a conspiracy theorist if you want, but I feel confident that this is the Grand Plan that Big Pharma already has in motion.
If they don't have such a plan in motion, they are idiots.

And I know they are not idiots.

I think that up until e-cigarettes began to prove that nicotine was not the problem BP was not willing to go there. Now that we are well on our way to proving at a population level that nicotine isn't the problem, smoking is, they are following the money and want control over it.
