Beaumont, Henry Ford to implement no-nicotine hiring policy Jan. 1 [WITH VIDEO]

I don't think their concern will be to differentiate between the sources of nicotine. Lumping us all together has been working so far.

Absolutely disgusting, IMO. I am one who still chooses to smoke, but like a PAW, maybe less.

I was recently at eye doctor for my like 8th visit in 2 months and on the last visit they asked about my tobacco use. I was honest, but wasn't as on top of my game as I probably could've been in relation to that question, like why are they asking me? I don't have health insurance, and don't plan on getting any insurance anytime soon. Btw, healthcare can be very affordable without insurance, but admittedly that depends on what sort of care a person needs/desires. Every doctor I've dealt with in last 10 years when I didn't have health insurance was willing to negotiate rates. Every time I've had insurance in last 10 years, I felt screwed by billing policies that were clearly out of my control.

Knowing there is a war on nicotine users, I'm not likely to get insurance anytime soon, regardless of the national/state laws that may or may not be in place. So, why ask me if I use tobacco products?

Call me a conspiracy theorist if you want, but I feel confident that this is the Grand Plan that Big Pharma already has in motion.
If they don't have such a plan in motion, they are idiots.

I really thought Kurt Cobain came up with that. Learn something new everyday around here.

Thought on the financial end, for over a year after I joined I kept meaning to send something but never seemed to have it. One night I just started a small automatic monthly donation and it's been going for over a year now without hurting my pocket at all.

I also set up an automatic monthly donation via my paypal account. My thought has always been if I can afford to buy vaping supplies each month, I sure as heck should be able to help protect my right to vape by supporting CASAA financially.

I bet the market is already carved up. Ineffective, low dose nic, cig-alikes will remain available and higher dose formulas will be available by prescribtion only. That way all major stakeholders will get their share, including state taxes which is 85% of the price of cigs.

I suspect nicotine might be < 10mg at the retail level which will feel like a bargan since some are pushing for < 4mg. Online sales will get restricted or limited in some way because states will want to insure their share of the tax using licensed tobacco distribution warehouses. Mods not getting a state stamp will be illegal. I think the states, cities can regulate anything they want under this.

We maybe concerned about how we will continue vaping after regulations but I think the greatest tragedy will be for smokers who have not yet been introduced to vaping. A couple of friends of mine aren't interested in trying (again) because of their experiences with Blu.

A case of 'under promise' then 'over-deliver', in other words paint a picture as black as night, then set a nicotine level/availability lower than it was previously-and everyone will gasp with relief and thank the FDA for being kind.
This is what will happen in the EU if the present updated proposals go through un challenged.

I just got off the phone with the FDA.
They told me that they are NOT regulating E Cigs and NO ruling will be handed down.

They said that all the chatter online about a decision close at hand is nonsense.

So, thought I'd share.
Thoughts?

I would have had to ask if this statement came from the same source as you'll be able to keep your policy?

:evil::facepalm::p:rolleyes::lol:

Funny you mentioned that.
I just lost mine and ended up in hospital because my Doctor couldn't see me until after Jan 15th.
They said it was due to Obama Care but "you could enroll in that plan if you wish"

Not a plan, it's a scam.
Now there's an apropos slogan for ya..........

Tears of joy, no words.
Will they be a consumer product?
Even if your post is a prank, it's nice to breathe and relax for 5 minutes. :).
Pm AgentAnia the details please, so she can cross examine them and report back.

No, this is NOT a prank.
This is genuine.

I spoke to an official at the main office in MD. I called this number- 800-216-7331.
I informed them I was writing an article for my website and wanted some facts regarding pending regulations.

They probably don't want another "phony" scandal at this point. It WILL be big news if they do something drastic, as most people have at least heard of them now days.

There is lots of evidence to the contrary to this. With whom at the FDA did you talk to? What exactly did you say/ask them? And what exactly was their response?
This post looks like a big, giant troll. If it is not, and this turns out to be true, it would be awesome news in a time where there has been little optimism.

OK, FYI. I don't play games.
I have devoted the past two years, full time, to helping those in my community switch from Tobacco to e cigs. I have had numerous dealing and discussions with health organizations and government entities both in the USA and Australia.

I run a website and decide to call the FDA to see if I could get some info on regulations.

I called the head office in MD.
I was put though to a Lady who works in the Tobacco division.

I said-
"I run a website and I'm looking for information for an article I am writing about pending FDA regulations, pertaining to Electronic Cigarettes. Would you able able to help me"

The Lady responded with these exact words-
"The FDA does not regulate electronic Cigarettes and there are no pending regulations"

I informed her that there are numerous media and general websites that suggest the FDA are about to issue a determination on e cigs.

Her reply was- "That information is incorrect"

I thanked her for her time and that's that.
