The V3 at 5V !!!!!

I just discovered that the 5V (4.8V actually) batteries from another vendor fit in my V3!!!!

Very interesting. I wouldn't have thought that since the description says it's the same dimensions as the 18650. Did you have to make any modifications like removing/adding washers in the switch?

Nope. It slid right in! (TWSS) Fires perfectly!

Not sure yet Steve. I just figured out they fit a little while ago. I'll let you know. I have 2 of these batteries and they both fit just fine, so I'm pretty sure it's not a fluke. BTW Steve....I'll take my "PureSmoker Innovation of the Year" reward in large bills please!

I am very interested in this! Ide love to go up a volt. Anything over 5 volts is just too much imo. This thing already runs like 5 volts with LR atty's and cartos. Are you using LR atty's? or standard?

I got my 5v batts today but am having no luck so far. The battery slides into the tube but is a bit tight. The problem is that they're too short to make contact with the adapter. I have one washer in. I'll try adding more washers this weekend when I have more time and energy to play with it. I'm using a 510 adapter.

That's strange. Do you have the V3.1 switch assembly in yours?

seeing as they aren't a single piece but small stacked batteries, I'm sure length is probably all over the place.

I'm curious about the runtime on them also. Please let us know SKYY. I have 2 of the original Prodigy V3's and a V3.1. All have a different combo when it comes to their switches.

Well, I have another issue. I put one on the charger as soon as I got home from work (around 7:00). At 9:30, the charger light was still red. I felt of the battery and it was HOT. I don't mean warm. It was H O T! I took it off the charger and left it sitting on the kitchen counter. It was still hot about 20 minutes later (not as hot, but hot nonetheless).

I'm heading over to Jason's subforum to see if anyone else has mentioned this issue.
