Hmmm. Maybe the budget value drill was powered by cheap Efest 18650's. The extreme hardness of the Dutch concrete could have overloaded the batteries and caused a meltdown which heated the drill bit until it got soft like butter. I wonder if they have regulated drills over there or some kind of hybrid design where the back end of the drill directly contacts the positive terminal of the battery? My only other theory involves dark matter and spacetime.

Drill bit test:
Place against angle iron on 45 degrees >L< to the sides.
Strike with hammer
If it bends toss it, it is junk.
If it snaps in two briskly - Purchase another of the same and go to work

Yea, Ive had those days, but usually the Bit Breaks off in the Hole........blocking it off.
:grr:

Lol yeah when I first seen the picture I was massively confused thinking Andre the Giant must've been wrapping the coil, but instead tried twisting the bit instead of wrapping the wire.

I too have been under a curse the last few days though. Where no matter what I do it seems like my gear is just fighting me. Building coils and trying to them positioned right, wicking, everything. I've been doing it for a couple months on my drippers without issue, then just recently everything (and I mean everything) has just been fighting me.

Every time i get a new piece of gear, something just goes horribly horribly wrong somehow... Am i the only one experiencing this?... This picture sums up my day so far pretty good

Just guessing but it's probably been improperly tempered, or lost it's hardness - can happen with overheating a (*ahem* cheaper) drill bit - never seen one unwind like that though, as you say they usually snap cleanly.

Definitely something metallurgical going on there....either that or you've filled it with the wrong kind of elastic-trickery or something!:p
