Must confess sort of excited.

Been wanting to play with a bottom feeder since joining ECF and just picked one an XL from the Classy's after ghosting these pages for a bit.

So as a relative noob what are your suggestions for keeping out of trouble ? Yes I have been keeping my eye on the Kick posts and will go there once they become generally available.

I'd be careful tightening your bottle to the housing if that had anything to do with some reported cracking... yet you don't want it loose either.
Also, I'd recommend sticking with LR range atomizers... 1.5 Ohms to 2.0 tops. 1.5 is hot, and 2.0 is cool, so what works best for me 1.7 to 1.9 Ohms.
If you are looking for an atty I'd recommend Ikenvape's 1.8 LR i06 atomizer. Question is which d/t to use on it that will fit the cone....
Once i get my XL back I'll figure that out as some new things have come out for the io6. I was using a snipped Iken d/t. see posts quite a while back.

thanks ord, i find lately that with good LR attys I don't really need VV....:)
I use my VV's simply for LR atty's, 4.13 with a IKV LR 901, and I'm in vape Heaven.....Now if I could just Kick my XL to keep it constant like that.......Aww ya, thats what I'm talkin' Bout:hubba:

Be gentle on the bottle, it doesn't require much of a tap(No S word's please:laugh:) With a little practice, you can tilt and vape with just an ocasional LIGHT tap to clear the chamber:w00t: Also a filled VMod is a Happy Vmod:w00t:

Reading through my post I got something wrong.

"Been wanting to play with a bottom feeder since joining ECF" should have added and found it wasn't something really odd !

I started dripping a couple of weeks ago and this seems to be the way to get the best of both worlds. Convenience of a tank and flavour of dripping. I have a load of 18650's so with this mod's design of me having to try to flood it deliberately it was a no brainer.

Yes definite plans to try an iO6 and also a HH357 after reading the glowing reviews on this thread.

At some point there must be a point that you just don't want anymore toys surely ? I am not there yet but there must be a point lol

I have found what I believe to be the "Holy Grail" after Vaping since 7/2010, and yet I still want to try, just for the sake of trying:facepalm: Ahh Ya, The Wonderful World Of Vaping:laugh:

there's always going to be something new on the horizon...
but for me the XL is going back to non VV, and matching atty resistance to the IMR batt for best vape.
Unless the whole atomizer game changes; how they are designed, we're pretty much tapping the heck out of it right now.

I wasn't going to get anything other than carto's and juice this week as I plan on getting a Provari and a Mini on Wednesday or 2 Mini's. That is going to be it until I have turned around the spent v saved. Well in my head at the moment but there is still that Zenesis Atty Pro to go on the Provari then a Zenesis to avoid.

I guess the upside of this is that I am still not smoking and have a new bunch of toys to stop me.

For i06 fans -- I found a new toy that might make the io6 a breeze on the XL.

It's called: the i06 sleeve

It's a metal sleeve that makes the io6 able to use 510 trip tips.

And yes, Andy -- the upside is all this is keeping you away from the analogs! Good Job. And, you are starting out with some great mods --- the XL included, of course!

Just to confirm before I raid the stock of Avid Vaper the XL works with standard atty's, well 501's and 306's so no need to buy anything with a sealed center post ?

Also to confirm this mod doesn't need the i06 sleeve does it ? I thought that clever second sleeve dealt with the 306. The website is gratefulvaper.com if interested.

No need for sealed center post atty's, and the io6 sleeve sounds great(haven't seen one yet). You will need it, as you still need it to attach a drip tip. The inner sleeve on the XL just keeps juice in:toast:

My suggestion is to try an Aero 1.5 ohm atomizer from AvidVaper.com on your XL.
It's been my best vape with the XL so far.

@Azcraig, since we both like the Cisco Coil and in particular the HH.357, what is it exactly that you like better about the Aero? Of my two. 357s one is finicky and going back for rebuild, the other is just incredible, and I'm ordering a couple Aeros on your recommendation. I think the chamber under the coil makes the HH.357 especially ideal for dripping.

That is exactly the conversation that brought me to the XL. Was looking at 357 posts and come across the discussion you guys were having. If I found it pretty certain that others are interested as well.

I am going to order one of each later today so to look at the differences.
