Update on my puff time scienceing. It occurred to me that I have a fairly easy way to get some truly meaningful data thanks to escribe.
So, remember the whole "experimental bias" thing, and how I said I knew it affected my Boreas results? Well, now I know just how much. Last puff 3.79 s, mean 3.80 s, standard deviation 1.16 s. That's with a total of 88 puffs so far on this setup.
Perhaps more surprising to me is the Merlin TC results. Granted, only 12 puffs worth of data on this one, but keep in mind 3 of those were from the experiment. Last puff 3.77, mean 3.87, std dev a whopping 2.13 seconds!
So my certainty that I was taking 6-8 second puffs regardless of setup is somewhat shaken now. Granted this doesn't take into account suck time after releasing the button, but I really don't think I'd doing that for 2 seconds, certainly not for 4. So typical puff time for both of these setups appears to be a bit under 4 seconds.
Anyway, I'll put something more formal together for Fuzzy to analyze now that I know how to get good data. I'll have to ignore my squonk setups for the experiments, but I can maybe use a different RDA with the same build. Plan on a full week though before I provide results, as I will need time to collect data. Need to have a sufficient sample size to make sure the mean value is useful. Also, I'll try to do multiple builds in multiple attys.
Planned info to report includes the puff data from escribe, wire gage and type, coil dia, resistance, # of wraps, wattage, and which atty I was using. That last one is only marginally useful but figure I should include it.
