Not sure what the issue was with it the first two attempts. I redid it all from scratch an it's working. I'm at 50w now. Now to test it out. Thank for gage help.

Here's a picture of my new SX350 (50w upgrade applied) 1590G raw aluminum box mod and a nice new Tugboat from VariTube.com

Got a 1590a on the way now that I know what build I want. Then order a second sx350 this weekend to build on a dual battery.

What build are you doing in the 1590A? The 1590A might be smaller than you think. It's a tight fit for a VTC5 with Keystone battery holder. I mounted the chip sideways. It was my first mod, so it doesn't look TOO pretty. And I've already ripped everything out of the box, and redid everything once already.

Well, I got my chips in from varitube (ty btw and happy birthday) and while messing with it, I noticed the usb charging board. I personally think they should have wired them from the other side so you have a nice flat to mount them. Here's a pic to explain what I'm saying better lol:

I totally agree! What say you onedesign1?

I held one at a store last week and was shocked. The one in the store was 11.00. No way. I need other supplies so got it online for less then 6. I ordered a 3d printer so I can play with the faceplate. This unit will be my work unit so I want it small as possible. Won't be doing much 50w on it so I think your build is awesome. You did good getting it all in that small area. I might just order my second chip and take my time with this but it's all going in that box. I like your build. My first build was in a radio shack project box. lol So I'm not judging but think yours was great for a first build too. We all start some place and learn.

Yeah the reason for ripping the guts out was to redo my soldering. Used a higher quality solder. My connections weren't good enough for 50w. After I redid the solder, I can Vape my dripper at 50w for an hour or so depending on how much I vape. If I were to start from scratch, I'd have the usb charging board facing down in that picture cause the board is a bit long, I had to trim a slot in the battery holder for it to fit. I'd also move the battery holder down so I can have a spring loaded 510. Had to move the holder up a bit cause the VTC5 is too wide to fit the charging board where it's at, and I had already cut a hole for the usb... Oh well... It works...

At 15 - 20w vaping my kayfun, I can go 2 days on a charge, so it's great if you want something small, and don't vape drippers all day.

Hey all!

Although I've been building SX350 boxes since early May, I just found this thread.

I had a problem with one of my chips, from the initial release (from Yihi) where my chip would not buck properly. Most of the time it would display "SHORT!" Luckily it did not occur with any of mods that I sold. This 50W upgrade fixed it!

The sweetest part? Yihi sent me a free replacement with my last order. So I got a free chip...Yay for me!
