just picked up a 100 watt chip to play with :) I'm building a dual 18650 mod so it def makes sense to use the 100w chip in anything with dual batteries from now I think, even if you don't use the extra power it's also more efficient.

the 3.7V version of this chip is listed as 92% efficiency rating, but the 7.4V version is now listed at 95% efficiency. 95% efficiency is pretty good I'd say, especially since dual batteries are also adding efficiency to begin with:)

I love the performance of the vtc5 and apparently many other people do so they are in short supply. So I am just looking for an alternative that meets or exceeds the vtc5. So the search continues...
Mathematically speaking your correct. But I don't think any single 18650 would perform at 60w for very long after a full charge. Don't forget these boards are being clipped so when your seeing 60 w the board is actually pulling 65+ watts according to YIHI's tests mine showed much more. Then add in efficiency & loss's and your not going to get very long vape time that high with a single cell. Battery technology has grown leaps and bounds since way back when I raced RC cars using NiCads but they still have limits. I read somewhere Samsung had released one comparable to the VTC5 but I don't remember where I read it and didn't look into them. What are you attempting to do that these don't meet your needs? Or are you just looking for more vape time between charging?

100W boards are in folks. I haven't had a chance to mess with them yet but I just listed them on the site. 1 thing is YiHi contacted me and told me not to sell the charging boards. They realized the stacked battery issue and are nervous about series charging. They are redesigning a balancing circuit of some sort. They even sent me a word doc they want me to make public about matching cells.....but I need to fix up the chinglish a hair.

Anyhow I plan on taking some physical measurements and checking against the 50W. Not sure when I will get a chance to put a box together but I do have all the parts so maybe tomorrow if I get a chance. I need to test and check against my write up on features in fact!

Here's the board Authentic YiHi SX350 100W Chip!

Been great, doing great things for humanity, I got a new position and now I get to travel a lot to tropical places and help with research.

Right now working with Mosquitos and collecting samples of the chikungunya virus a strain from the Dengue virus.

But I will be back around October 25.

I see you been busy.

One of the pics was taken the day after I finished the build so that I could show a customer. The other 2 were taken on a whim a few hours ago because I wanted a couple of pics to show it firing @100W

So that's it then the VTC5 is the only 18650 single battery that can run the sx-350 properly. I was really hoping somebody had an alternative as the vtc5 is in short supply... Anybody that knows of a source for the vtc5 under $15 shipped please PM me...
Thanks

Everywhere I go people want to know where I got my awesome mod and want one.

The Samsung 24R/25R are also very good batteries. A LOT of people get scared off by the amp limit on them, but they are actually a better battery that the Sony's are. They also run quite a bit cooler in the higher amps range. I use my 20R's more than my VTC4/5's.

Still don't quite get why people prefer the VTC's over the Sammy's. The Samsungs can actually handle loads better than the Sony's...

If you don't believe me, check around some of the flashlight forums...they really are great batts...

What is the mah and amp on those samsung batteries? Have you actually used these batteries single cell with the sx-350 or are you referring to how they perform with a mech mod? because if you are then you cant compare...I make stealth mods that fit in your hand single 18650 still looking for a valid recommendation on a single 18650 that is better or equal to the sony vtc5vtc5 specs are...30A2600mahThanks guys for any input you have

My recommendation is based off of their performance in my mechs. I'm not too sure how any single 18650 would handle the SX350. The only mod that I have built for 18650's is a DNA30 single/dual setup in a Hammond 1590B. One of my customers runs dual VTC4's in the box that I built for him and he can usually get about a day out of it if he stays below 50W.

The Sammies mAh ratings...20R=2000mAh/22A
24R=2400mAh/25A
25R=2500mAh/20A
