All,
Today is my 16th day of being cigarette free.
I was a PAD smoker for 25 years, and had tried all sorts of methods of quitting: Cold Turkey, The Patch (which never seemed to stick to me for more than an hour), Chantix, and Nicotine Gum (vomit). I even tried Blu Cigarettes. While I COULD remain cigarette free for a few days, I always went back to smoking. I noticed too, that the time in between quits would be longer and longer each time I tried.
vaping is a miracle. I know it's not marketed (and shouldn't be, damn FDA...don't get me started) as a quit smoking tool, which is fine, but my my my what a wonderful "side effect".
I'm vaping my brains out, and the nicotine level in my juice is pretty high, 24mg/ml, but I HAVE NOT LIT UP A CIGGIE in over two weeks. Here's the miracle part: I'm not suffering.
Sure, I crave an occasional cigarette. With my morning coffee, after a meal, etc...but mostly what I'm noticing is the HABIT. Like the urge to light up when I get in the car, or when I'm fidgety at my desk and realize I haven't taken a break in six hours.
For the first time in my life as a smoker, I am confident that I am done. As long as I can keep vaping I don't need to smoke. I've been through my stress test (drunk at a bar) and where I would have bummed a ciggie in a second, I've managed to make it through the *slight* temptation.
My advice to you n00b's is to pick a nicotine level high enough to keep you satisfied, and to keep the pressure to quit low. If I can do it, you most certainly can too.
Best of luck!
Kenny
