Had a Panny go thermal in my Provari today...burnt the crap out of my hand! It was the magnet spacer that lost its charge, slid to the side and grounded out the positive. Well...to make a long story short, the thing started hissing, smoking and buring hot...then collapsed the spring. I popped out the battery put a new one in and it works like a charm! These PV's are resilient!

Yeah, looks like I'm sticking to my AW IMR's! It's crazy because this is the second time this week that I had batteries go thermal on me. Earlier this week, I was salvaging some Sanyo 18650's out of some laptop batteries for my flashlight and had a positive and negative wire touch and stick together...man, that could have been a nightmare because I had a 12x18650 pack go thermal...I took it outside and chucked it in the driveway, then continued to hit it with a shovel to try to break any connections...haha, I'm done being a cheap ..., I'll stick to Super-T for my batteries from now on.
