So is this Vapors tongue a common occurrence?

Seems pretty common. Especially early on in the switch. I had a bad, bad case that lasted almost two weeks. Barely any taste, if any at all, with any juice. Then it went away and haven't had it since. I dunno. Sometimes, these days, reading other folk's stories, I wonder if it might be part of the process of your sense of taste coming back. But I'm just speculating there.

I honestly think I have it now :(

4 months into vaping now and the juices that i like before just taste bad now.. why is this?

You can't taste them or you can taste them and don't like them?

I'm hitting that myself. Don't seem to like much of anything any more and am thrashing around trying to find something new.

Remember, smoking kills your ability to taste. When you quit, it comes back over time. I've changed even just the way I take my coffee now. Quite a bit of a change. The amount of sweetner and creamer I was used to using tasted awful. Total "sugar shock". I'm sure I was dumping a ton of flavoring in to compensate for the deadening of my sense of taste smoking is known for...

Hi all I've been vaping for almost 2 months now and went thru that myself. I thought my set up was broken changed the atomizer and everything, needless to say it confused the heck out of me. Thanks to you guys now is when I realize what was happening.
Thanks for letting me know what was going on

The good side of it is it's part of recovering from smoking.

I had this thing, a while back, don't remember exactly when or how long I'd been vaping exactly. But my sense of smell was coming back. And I was in the grocery store and turned into the coffee aisle. Now, I love coffee. Big time coffee drinker. But this time, it was a total rediscovery of how great coffee smells. The whole aisle was full of aromas and subtle scents. I stopped and thought, "Has it always been like this and I just didn't know???"

But it also can be irritating sometimes. I'm not having vaper's tongue right now. I can taste my juices. I just don't seem to like 'em anymore. I used to. What the huh?

Fortunately, I still have a bunch of samples of stuff I got early on that I didn't like. Maybe I like some of them now? Guess I'll see...

I'm totally jealous! All you guys saying it passes in a few days! I've had it for I don't know HOW long now. Seems like forever. I just started vaping beginning of May and for about the entire month of July ( a little here and there in June as well) I haven't been able to taste much of anything from my liquids. Every once in a while I get a little glimpse as to what I've been missing and can taste it then it's gone again.

I've tried everything from Menthol straight for 3 days, pickles, Biotene, saltines and of course... TONS of water (coconut as well). Back to tasting nothing right now. I wasn't a LONG time smoker. Only for about 2 years consistently but smoking PAD of CLOVES. Come on tastebuds. Get your act together!!

Only thing I haven't tried is vaping unflavored. That's next...

I've been vaping for months now

Like TFA Double RY4 and brewed up 120mL of 10mg, 500mL of 7mg and 120mL of 0mg nicotine. Have around 7 flavors laying around and if the RY4 is weak, I just add a drop or two of flavoring (apple, cherry, chocolate, cappuccino etc) for a change of pace. I use 60% VG ratio and a Pro Tank with EVOD head and it's close.

My issue besides flavor weirdness is getting a setup I can drop, work in the garden with it in my pocket and step on. So far, broke around 3 Ego types but am looking for the right Mech. The Kamry K300 telescope with metal shield that screws over the pyrex clearo seems to be what I need. Use AW 18350 IMR batteries, a Kamry "fuse" and a 1.5 to 1.8 ohm coil should be about right.

Cost wise, I'm spending half what I would of spent on cigs--not a bad deal! Next week I'll get the K300 (or K100 if they screwed up the K300) and not worry about gravity testing my PV.

A buddy of mine has been vaping for 3 months, he feels down that his menthol cig habit fell from 1.5 PPD to 0.5 PPD... The guy has about 30 different flavors of juice and generally uses 4 flavors per day. Relax, it is a process so don't think all or nothing...you'll find the right level of balance between vaping and cigs...eventually it will all come together so just stick with it.

You need to give your self sufficient time. I was kinda where you are when i first started back in march april.. but i didn't buy new battery types only many different forms of carto's and tanks and drippers.

You are trying to find perfection right out of the gate and you won't.

Its takes weeks or even months for your senses to start sufficiently healing to the point that things start tasting better and different.

You need to start with something that is satisfying your smoking urge. I started with tobacco flavor and a mild vanilla tobacco flavor.

You will know when your taste starts changing. Food tastes better. Literally, I find myself going MMMmmm when eating something simple like a tomato..

The hardest trick is finding the juice you like to start with as you so clearly made you sentiments to be the same. Keep it simple, go with what you know tobacco, then play with the flavors a bit more slowly as time ticks on. flavors you hated when you started might taste good a month down the road.

Flavors can taste differently in different vaping rigs, different resistances etc... if you stick to one flavor you in one rig you like you can slowly play with others and always have a go to flavor.

I stopped smoking real cigs march 28th i think i am over the worse of it now.

These days I have been vaping menthol. I hated menthol cigarettes but in vape I am loving it now but i still have my vanilla tobacco around.

My best advice i guess is to slow down and stick to the basics for a while.

When you quit smoking you tastes do change. At first most people want tobacco or menthol. After awhile, we discover flavors and the need for tobacco flavors goes away, at least in my experience. Once you taste buds redevelop, you can taste more complex flavors, and smell returns too. This also affected the way I cook, and my husband no long reseasons everything I made.

It's a journey to discover what works for you, and what flavors you prefer. That is half the fun, I think. For me, it's not about saving money. It's a hobby. Oh, and I no longer smoke, so that's the bonus.

If you can afford it, look into a Billet Box, pricey, but looks indestructible.
