Do I need a bunch of smaller glass containers to fill so I don't have to keep re opening a big one every time I need to mix more?
Yes, that would be a good idea, for the nic base at least. Generally, I think the recommendation is to have out only a 2-3 month supply, and keep the rest stored away in deep freeze. Some people pre-bottle it in 30-50ml bottles and take out one bottle at a time as they need it; others store larger amounts in the freezer and just dispense what they need into a smaller bottle each time. Personally, I'm still just "getting my feet wet" with DIY so I don't have a large supply of nic yet, but eventually, as I start to save up for the pending "vapocalypse," I do plan to pack it into individual 30ml bottles so I don't have to keep subjecting a larger one to several freeze/thaw cycles while I dispense from it. Either way, make sure you let it come up to room temperature before you open the bottle, so you don't get condensation inside and water down the nic base (it'll be tough to work with, all thick and syrupy, when it's cold anyway, especially if your nic is in VG base.)

I agree with everything said above. Storing in bottles big enough to hold a 3 - 4 month supply avoids the freezing and re-freezing of NIC. If you choose to store in big bottles and thaw, poor out what you need then refreeze you do 4 things. Introduce air into the storage bottle, introduce water condensation inside the bottle, expose the bottle to unnessessary light and constantly expose the storage bottle to sever temperature changes. All of this will oxidize NIC which will introduce a harsh peppery taste and cause the NIC to take on an amber tint, darking more and more as time passes. The darker it turns the more harsh and peppery it will taste. It is safe and still OK to vape if you like that sort of taste.

So the idea is to re-bottle into smaller sizes that will last 3 - 4 months. This way your keeping the bulk of your stored NIC Sealed, at a constant frozen temperature in a mostly dry, dark place. Once you remove a working bottle you can store your working bottle in the refrigerator leaving the rest undisturbed.
